Right property - needs better management
Sweet Dreams is an ideal location close to shopping such as Walmart and Publix, yet a quiet neighborhood which was perfect for morning and evening walks on the residential streets. The view from the lanai is lovely with the wide canal and lake. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets over the lake during February & March. Interior layout of the home is great with large rooms. The interior decoration of the home is outdated, but functional. The 2nd bedroom has a double sized bed which could be upgraded to a queen for more comfort for adult guests. We were fortunate to enjoy a new pool heater that had been installed just prior to our arrival unlike the January guest who did not.
We were disappointed in the services of Roelens Management Company mainly due to a lack of communication. Although we understand the destruction of hurricane Ian, we were not notified of the missing screen on the lanai or the tarps on the roof prior to our arrival. We were shocked that these details weren’t communicated with us prior to our arrival. The house has great bones, but is really in need of some maintenance attention. The lanai floor should have been power washed as the bottom of our feet were black each day. The Wi-Fi stopped working on a Sunday and was resolved on Wednesday after discovering they were paying 2 different companies for Wi-Fi and an unplugged gateway was found on a shelf in the garage, but that wasn’t the company that matched the Wi-Fi username and password that we were provided or listed in the instruction binder. It was frustrating that we had to call them Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday to get updates from them about the Wi-Fi as though our problem wasn’t important. We also were unable to have a maintenance crew come and replace light bulbs in a bathroom ceiling. We ended up doing it ourselves along with moving light bulbs to the outside garage door lights to be able to see at night. We noticed problems with the grass sprinkler system when the grass mowing contractor turn on the system near the end of our stay. There are two smoke detectors in the main living area, but only one of them had a green light showing it was in use.
To summarize, the location and view are wonderful, but the assistance from Roelens Management has a lot to improve for guests.
