Horrible! Will never stay with Vacasa
First thing I noticed when we pulled in was that the door wasn’t fully closed – I wasn’t sure we were even at the correct house. I went over and cautiously tested my code at the door which had been left ajar. It was our house, but how creepy.
The house was filthy, and it wasn’t because they were “rushing” to get it clean from the last guest and our impending arrival because we received an “early check in” text. I immediately texted Vacasa about the situation and sent pictures. Waited a few minutes for a response (it was 5:30 PM) but never heard back from them till 10:00 PM (almost 5 hours later). Not knowing our options and not wanting to spend the night in a disgusting house, we started cleaning.
I was attempting to prepare dinner; I came across kitchen item after kitchen item that was put away dirty. We lived out of our suitcases the entire week because as we were unpacking to put away our clothes, we discovered the closet shelves covered in filth. While I cooked dinner, my husband ran the vacuum. Then I tried to turn on the bathroom exhaust fans for evening showers. A lot of good they did, the same filth we found on the closet shelves pretty much encased the exhaust fans.
Then there are just all the “little” things like the broken shelves in the medicine cabinet; arriving to lamp lights burnt out; the broken screen door on the patio; the dangling power box and lights within reach of my child outside where the painters never reinstalled; the front of the washing machine coming off; etc. etc. etc.
When we finally heard from Vacasa the next day, they offered to send someone, but we had already done all the work to make the place livable for the week. I asked for $100 credit for our trouble. I followed-up every single day and after 7 days, we NEVER received any confirmation of getting a partial refund (still haven’t). I requested to speak with the maintenance person and asked them to be sent to our unit at 9:00 AM, no one came. I will NEVER stay with a Vacasa property again.
