Suite in Historic Downtown Home - 4 Blocks from Capitol

Eleven Oaks Suite is located in a downtown Austin home that has both city and state historical designation. Your hosts, who live on the premises, are homeowners Ted Siff and Janelle Buchanan. The original part of the house was built in 1858 by Edward Clark, who was Texas’ lieutenant governor under Sam Houston and, briefly, governor.

Your suite has a private entrance and a designated parking space in the rear of the property. Entrance is through a locked gate into the back yard. Your suite is comprised of a bedroom with a queen sized bed, television, writing desk, closet with plenty of hanging space, full-length mirror and small chest of drawers; a bathroom with shower; and a kitchen with a table and two chairs, dishes, glasses and utensils, a small refrigerator, microwave, toaster and Keurig single-serve coffee maker. A small patio is outside your kitchen door, with a table and chairs. Clothing hangers, a hair dryer, coffee, tea and a variety of sweeteners are provided.

The property was wonderful. The hosts have devoted much time and effort to providing thoughtful touches throughout. It was perfect for our needs, a two-day stay near downtown. It would be equally well-suited for a longer stay as a base from which to explore Austin. The patio with a pecan canopy was a delightful way to close out our first evening there.

I enjoyed being able to walk all over the city. It was especially nice to have a parking spot at the property. Text responses prior to the trip and during the trip were swift and supportive. Very nice experience for a solo female traveler!

Property was a cozy, comfortable suite within a few blocks of the Texas state Capitol building. Not a lot of space but plenty for a couple & efficiently used to pack in a generous supply of amenities (TV with streaming services, fridge, microwave, coffee maker & wonderful selection of books & guides to local services). The original floors & cabinetry were beautifully restored to give it a real homey feel.

An Amazing Spot!

Loved staying here for a quick weekend visit to Austin! It was central to a lot of great spots within walking distance, yet it was still far enough away from the action to get some peace and quiet. We loved all of the little critter friends that we got to meet with our stay including Juno, she was a sweety my Husband fell in love with. She'd be outside in the courtyard to welcome us back sometimes. Room was comfortable, the extra AC saved our lives during that muggy heat down there, and the shower was great! We also enjoyed bumping into our hosts! You guys are the nicest! Thank you for having us in your lovely space! Would definitely come and stay again and recommend to other!

Great Stay Downtown!!

Amazing stay in downtown Austin! My best friend and I came in for a fun weekend away and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Ted + Janelle’s place. The historic cottage was perfect as a launchpad for our stay and provided more than enough access to the downtown corridor. Not only was the cottage clean, but the accommodations were a great respite from the busy pace of downtown!! We look forward to staying again soon!

Very Close To Downtown Austin

We enjoyed our stay at Ted and Janelle’s property. The unit is attached to the main house but there is no access between properties. The unit has its own entrance with its own convenient parking space. Communications is excellent. We needed to add an additional day and early arrival and we were able to do through the app/text with Ted. A TV issue was quickly addressed by Ted. The refrigerator is stocked with water and a couple of bottles of the local brew which is a nice touch!
