« This is an absolutely great hostel - brand new, very clean, spacious ground floor (this is the common area) but maybe not enough seating when the hostel is fully booked (add a couch?). One can feel that everything is brand new, my room (8 people dorm) had a top light and bottom lights (next to the beds) for the night, which I thought was great. The bed is very comfortable and you can choose between three or four types of pillows (sic!)! My bed had a total of 3 power outlets + 1 USB port + my own...

« This is an extremely well-priced option for a stay in Kyoto, in an accessible but quiet part of the city that is still close enough to be convenient, but far away from the maddening crowds. Great hostel facilities, clean, spacious, comfortable, with all the necessities well looked after, and completely functional. The guests were all very respectable and there are no unnecessary frills. Would much rather stay here than any chain business hotel. One note is that I'm a sento/onsen addict, and...

« Very good hotel located just between Gion and Kiyomizu. Traditional japanese house with tatami’s room will get you completely immersed in japanese culture. The hosts are very kind and I was lucky to be invited to eat dinner with them. I had an unforgettable experience and I recomment this hotel to have a great time in Kyoto. »

« 2階和室に宿泊しました。自分たちの寝泊まりする部屋の真ん前の廊下部分は他の人も通れる作りだったので、私たちの寝室の目の前を大きな音を立てて何度も何度も往復する人がいて恐怖を感じました。また鍵も簡単な作りだったため子連れだったのであまりに防犯的に怖くて結局2泊の予定が1泊もしないままチェックアウトしました。他の階の宿泊者が、私たちの部屋のトイレや風呂を利用することもできる作りになっていて本当に襲われそうな怖さがありました。またチェックイン直後にトイレに行った際、トイレットペーパーが濡れていたり、洗面所が濡れていたりととにかく水回りの掃除が適当すぎて辛かったです。部屋にテレビもなくてビックリでした。もう二度と行きません。 »

« The hostel is located far from kyoto station. It takes nearly an hour on bus to get there. Room is cheap , so condition including bath and rest rooms and kitchen are not convenient . Breakfast is provided , but you should pay additionally city tax of 200 yen/person/night that is not charged anywhere else . »

« This place was kind of hard to find and distinctly cobbled together but I wasn't expecting much anyway. Be warned, the stairs are very steep and scary. On the plus side, it is right next to a street full of good clubs and other night life just beside the stream. There's also a metric ton of shopping right there and the temple isn't too far a walk. »
