Our home is a duplex with its own private entrance. This unit is located on the ground level of the duplex with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. The living room and kitchen are located on the ground level as well.

Please note: This house doesn’t have central AC, but stays cool during summer with portable air conditioning units and extra fans. In addition, this is the lower level unit of a duplex so you may hear voices or footsteps from the top-floor tenant.

Please note: especially in the summer with a portable AC unit running in the living room, the kitchen electrical circuit can get overloaded, causing it to trip the breaker. Let us know if this happens and we can walk you through how to reset it.

99% of guests are visiting family, friends, on a work trip, or just exploring town. For anyone who intends to have a party, disturb the neighborhood, or in any other way violate our house rules, we want to make clear that:

We have a zero-tolerance policy for this. We have noise sensors that alert us if decibel levels pass a certain threshold, and we have unfortunately had to ask guests to leave for violating this rule. Being a good neighbor of the city and the block we are on is very important to us.

We have sensors to detect indoor smoking (nicotine and marijuana) and have an automatic $750 fine for violations, and have also had to ask guests to leave early for violating this rule.

We share our driveway with our upstairs neighbor. Please park on the right-hand side of the driveway. We have installed signage for Apartment 1 parking. Our side of the driveway fits up to two cars in tandem.

Please note there’s no street parking on our street. If you need more parking space, there is extra free street parking available on the southbound side of a nearby street west of and perpendicular to our street, which is only a few steps away!

The unit is fully accessible via a YALE smart lock on the front door. To enter, type the code we provide in your reservation check-in instructions, and press the CHECK to unlock.

When leaving, type that same code followed by the CHECK mark and the deadbolt will close. The locks will also auto-lock after one minute if you forget to lock.

We are available whenever you need! Please feel free to reach out via the app or website you booked on with any specific questions. For any health emergencies, please dial 911. If a system malfunctions (i.e., hot water not functioning or a light has gone out), please send us a message on the app or website you booked on and we will be sure to address it in as short a time as possible (we usually respond within a few minutes). We also have handymen, electricians, plumbers, and landscapers with whom we work, so for any extenuating circumstances, we will happily bring them out to solve your issues post haste!

Extra Sleeping Arrangements

Pullout Couch: Underneath the horizontal seat you will find two fabric handles. Pull them out from under the couch and raise up the extra mattress section from underneath the couch. Remove the couch pillows to make space for two!

Extra Linens: Underneath the chaise section of the couch you will find four bath towels and four hand towels, four pillows, a comforter, and extra sets of sheets and pillowcases for the couch and air mattress.

We love hosting folks, so we want to be as respectful as possible to our wonderful neighbors. Since we’re in a quiet neighborhood, we do ask that you follow a few easy rules:

- No parties & no overnight guests without prior approval. If you’re looking to host a small gathering, that’s probably ok but please let us know.
- Respectful, quiet volume, particularly after 9 pm.
- Please leave your shoes at the door.
- No pets please, as many of the guests we host have allergies.
- No smoking - also, don't discard your cigarettes in house trash cans. They get stinky.
- If you break or damage something, please let us know and arrange for its replacement or repair.
- Do not leave any food out that will attract uninvited pests. Our home is pest-free and we intend to keep it that way with your help.

Nicely furnished 2 bedroom rental on the ground level of a three story old house
There is considerable noise from above and below tenants, with old creaky floorboards and thin walls. That being said, we were able to tune it out for the most part. The mattresses could be more comfortable. Wonderful stocked kitchen with lots of cookware and dishes. Very warm and cozy. Couldn’t get smart tv to accept our Fire TV subscriptions

Need to Love Animals
If this property were for sale, it would be classified as a "fixer upper." House clearly had animals at one time, is creaky, and you can hear every step (and bark) the upstairs neighbor and his/her dogs made. Back garden area looks like someone blew up a fire pit with bits of twisted metal strewn about. Left the property and found a hotel - nothing like a midnight check-in on graduation weekend. Did not regret leaving this property and even though I left behind a sweater, i refused to go back.

Great space for relaxing work weekend
The house was nice, very cozy and met my needs for the trip. We had some issues with getting the code for check-in, contacting the owner, very icy driveway, and noise transfer between units. We especially enjoyed the fireplace and how comfortable the beds were. Overall this location was a good value.
