Come and experience Sojourn Cabin, a getaway that will provide a perfect mix of tranquility and adventure. While it is stylish and comfortable, it also leaves you at nature's doorstep where you can explore all that the Alaskan wilderness has to offer: Summertime access to scenic hiking and biking trails; fishing on many nearby creeks & rivers; and accessible cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails in winter. You'll be a world away from it all, while still just 30 miles from the nearest town.
You'll enter Sojourn Cabin through an arctic entry, and into the main open concept living space with prow windows. Immediately to your right, you'll find the kitchen and beyond that the living room with a wood stove at its center. You'll find a two different seating areas, a smart TV with Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+, and a variety of Alaskan themed books. The windows make the living room feel bright and spacious, and offer the opportunity for bird watching in the summer, and star gazing in the winter. You can also enter the deck from the living room, where you can sit and relax. Occasionally, you may be lucky enough to see the northern lights out the window, a moose sighting, or one of the local dog teams training down below.
The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, stove with hood range, microwave, and dishwasher. A coffee station is available with local coffee roasted by Farm Loop Coffee, and local tea by Felicity Loft. You'll also find all the cookware you'll need, as well as olive oil and spices. You'll have enough space for up to six to dine around the kitchen island.
Upstairs in the loft, you'll find a king sized bed with bedside lamps and changing ports. Downstairs, you'll find another small bedroom beyond the kitchen with a queen sized bed, blackout curtains, bedside lamps, and charging ports. The space is ideal for four people, but can hold up to six people using an air mattress, which you'll find in the bedroom closet.
Beside the bedroom you'll find the bathroom, with a shower, a tub, and lotion that is locally made by Grey Fox. You'll also find a full sized washer and dryer in the laundry room.
You will have full private access to your parking area, cabin, and deck. The cabin is on property that also houses two yurts, one larger guest home, and the owner's home. Please be respectful of others' space.
The owner is a dog musher who lives on the property. For safety reasons and out of respect for the well-being of our sled dogs, guests are prohibited from accessing the sled dog yard located down at the end of the driveway to the right.
You may see other guests on the grounds utilizing the dumpster on the grounds near the cabin.

The cabin is located in the Caswell area of Alaska off mile 88 of the Parks Highway, between Willow and Talkeetna. The area is known for its amazing hunting and fishing opportunities. The cabin is about 4 miles off of the highway in an area that is popular with dog mushers. You'll likely hear the howling and singing of the dogs during your stay.
A vehicle will be required to get around.
During certain times of year, access may require AWD or 4WD. Access during breakup and the muddy season, or after heavy snow fall might be more difficult.

The cabin is on a well and septic tank, so please don't flush anything but toilet paper down the toilets.
For the protection and safety of the home owners & guests, this home is equipped with a noise decibel monitor that does not record sound, and an outdoor security cameras that take active video and audio recordings on the in the driveway and exterior of the house.
