"I loved the view of the Luxor Temple, the Avenue of Sphinxes, the Nile with its boat traffic, Hatshepsut’s Temple and the distant mountain containing the Valley of the Kings. All from my window! I loved watching the traffic on the street below, yes, the touts, the horse carts, all of it because it’s a part of the experience. The facility is vintage, so a bit dated, as I would expect other properties in the area and I’m ok with that because I wanted a local experience not an international hotel...

"I checked in and found that the receptionist had no idea of my expected arrival. I had the receipt and all she was interested in was viewing my airline booking, not my hotel booking. I looked at three rooms before finding one that was reasonable, and reasonable is a low expectation. The pictures on the web site are archaic at best. Only one morning was I not the only one at breakfast and by 8:00 am got a phone call to come to breakfast, even though breakfast was served until 9:00 am. It...
