I’ve had the pleasure of staying at the Melrose many times over the past few years. The hotel and its staff are only getting better and better. Everyone is smiling and aiming to please. The rooms are clean and very comfortable, especially the beds. The location is very good, right between Georgetown and GU. It’s easy to access everything and the metro is very close. I will continue to return, thank you to the wonderful staff!

Overall we enjoyed the stay. The only thing that we were upset about eas that the room eas freezing. When we asked about it we were told the hotel was on a two pipe system and the heat would come on in evening. It never did. When we checked out we mentioned it and were told we had to ask for a heater. Very upset as we were very cold in the room.

Great location, beautiful room, fairly good price (nice DC hotels still seem quite expensive, but compared to a lot of other hotels in the area, yours was pretty reasonably priced). All in all, it was a great find, and I'm sure I'll be returning the next time I stay in DC.

Very disappointed with the room- noisy fan, poor quality pillows. Did not sleep well at all. Shower was dirty, water didn’t get hot. Bathrobe had lipstick on the collar! Asked for 30min extra for check out as we had an appointment and lady at reception desk was very rude. Didn’t allow us to extend by half an hour and was unapologetic! Will not return !

We keep coming back here. Their staff is attentive to detail and make us feel welcome. The morning coffee and fresh drinking water in the lobby are very welcome treats. The gym is excellent. I would love to see them adding a light breakfast option at an affordable price as well.

This was our first family visit to DC, we took our 11 year old daughter to visit the museums. We wanted to stay close to Georgetown as it offered more restaurants, shopping, etc. Two things made us decide on The Melrose- it was in a great location somewhat in between the National Mall (25 minute walk) and Georgetown (10 minute walk), and they had a 1 bedroom suite available which offered some privacy. Overall the hotel is in pretty good condition, newer lobby and room updates. The staff was very curtious and attentive. Couple downsides were little to no bathroom ventilation and a night of neighbors getting home at 3:30am and smoking weed which somehow the odor heavily penetrated our room. Note that the booking fee on here does not include a “historic preservation” fee which is billed upon checkout- it’s only like $23 a night. Overall, it was a good stay and would recommend.

Very good staff mainly in the reception. Tiny bathroom. Room phone not working. A la carte breakfast very expensive( I was informed in the check in it was complimentary but it was not and I had two pay with taxes and tip almost US 70 for a simple breakfast)
