Top Upper West Side Historic Hotels

Excelsior Hotel
3.5 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, (1000)
"The hotel is unique in decor. It is older, but very clean and antique decor. I loved it. We were pleasantly surprised to get a larger room. Very close to Central Park and Museum across the street. Also subway is close. We walked to the theatre district for a play. I was so happy to find that cleaning staff found my wallet. I had left it in the safe and staff had given it to the office. What a huge relief!! Nice to know we do have some decent honest people in this world!! Excelsior is our...
Excelsior Hotel
The Lucerne Hotel
4.0 star property
9.2 out of 10, Wonderful, (1890)
"Quaint accommodations. Very friendly staff. Our room was small but very clean and comfortable. I wasn’t aware that they had cars available at the hotel for guest to use at a moments notice, and at a reasonable price. It made it so easy to transport us to events we planned and transportation to the airport. It was a very pleasant stay. "

Hotel Belleclaire
4.0 star property
9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (2091)
"The only downside was lack of coffee maker/refrigerator in the room. Prepare yourself for that, and everything will be perfect. Desk staff was incredibly friendly, check-in went very smoothly. We were lucky enough to have a room with an actual "view" instead of a view of the next building -- all to common in NYC. I would definitely stay here again."

Graffiti Hostel
2.0 star property
5.2 out of 10, (60)
"In reality this is a youth hostel. The washrooms were a disaster and the windows that do open also let in the cold weather which at 32 degree and lower is not a good thing. TV's don't work except the one in the lobby, Insufficient bedding (ask for extra towels and blankets and they will be provided) and rather uncomfortable sagging beds with thin and sagging mattresses. No maid service during stay. No frills to the max!"

"The Wallace provides quality, comfort and restfulness all within the bustling big city. Staff are super attentive and friendly, offering bag check services, answering questions and providing extra things for the rooms if needed. As for the room, ours was immaculate. Super clean and comfy bed. We slept so well during our stay. The bathroom was spacious and the rainfall shower was a real treat. We were also fortunate enough to have a room with a nice view of the city. Yes, some construction...
