"We made a great choice in choosing the Riverfront Retreat for our Thanksgiving celebration. The large dining table fit our group and its close proximity to the kitchen made serving and cleanup a breeze. One bedroom is set apart from the others which worked perfectly for one couple who ducked out at 5am to catch a flight out of Dulles (about an hours drive) without disturbing others in the group. We enjoyed hiking in Seven Bends State Park and even toured the Shenandoah Caverns (a short drive)....

"The cozy cabin had lots of wonderful charm. The outer room had a sauna and a fireplace. The windows were great with a perfect view of the snow. The porch had a very nice with a big hot tub. The bed room was nice with a reading area and the living room has a great TV. We were greeted with cookies and a bottle of the good stuff. I would recommend this cabin and we cannot wait to go back. "

"Hubby and I were in town for a wedding with our 21 year old son. We were walking distance from some great local stops and just a short drive from anything we needed and plenty to do. Next trip we’d like to take advantage of hiking options we didn’t have time for this trip. Sooooo much better than a hotel, this place is loaded with character and comfort touches a plenty and provided everyone a nice balance of privacy and togetherness! Great stay!"

Only issues were minor, such as low water pressure, especially when more than one of us was showering, no hot water in the downstairs shower, and ants on the kitchen counter, but no biggies, we still loved it and would do it again! "Our extended family enjoyed a long weekend in sleepy Luray. It was beautiful and the Sterling was great. The property is right off of Main Street, and there is quite a bit of street noise in the rooms in the front of the house. There is also a fire station a few doors down, and that alarm is very loud (went off four times over a four day stay). I would recommend sound machines or ear plugs. "
