Peaceful Adobe Casita between Taos/TSV- Mountain Views, Hot Tub, Summer Garden

Welcome to Pinon Paradise Casita, our serene mountain retreat! Located between Taos (10 miles) and the Ski Valley (9 miles), it is perfect for summer and winter activities. Shops and restaurants in Arroyo Seco are only 3 miles away.

This home is unique in ways that only exist in Taos! The casita has high Vigas ceilings and radiant heat through the custom slate floor. Beneath a bank of windows with mountain views is a one of a kind sandbox- it can be used as a zen sand meditation garden, or hours of play for young and old alike!

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would need to prepare meals. There is one king bedroom and a queen sleeper sofa (that is actually comfortable! It is a platform pull out with a gel mattress). There is one full bathroom. Outside, there is a private hot tub with overhead string lights.

The extensively landscaped grounds are shared with the main house. Guests are encouraged to pick and eat seasonal herbs and vegetables as well as cuttings from the wildflower garden. Depending on the time of year, you may be able to enjoy herbs, fresh vegetables, apples and grapes! The fire pit is surrounded by four large Adirondack chairs and encourages you to sit and relax (blankets are provided for the cool desert evenings).

Please note there is a second home on the same property, situated with maximum privacy for each home. The homes are about 20 yards apart. Each home has it's own driveway and hot tub, but the grounds (fire pit, garden) are shared by both properties. If you have a larger group, please see the listing for reserving both properties as a "compound."

While this is a new listing, this property has been rented for years with numerous five star reviews. We have decided to rent without a management company because we want to know you, our guests, better!

If you are travelling with small children, there is a pack and play available.

4 wheel drive or chains required during snow.

My husband and I spent a week here and LOVED it! The casita felt so remote and peaceful, even though it’s very close to town (about 15 minutes from Taos). We felt very comfortable during our stay and enjoyed the amenities offered. The decor and furniture were perfect for the area, and I believe the art was painted by the hosts, which added a special element! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and eat our meals which was super convenient! We were fortunate that during our stay there wasn’t other guests staying in the front property, so we truly had the whole place to ourselves. We are so happy we found this place and look forward to our next stay there!

Very nice casita. It was perfectly located to be remote, but also close enough to Taos. The heated floors were lovely.

Peaceful Adobe Casita between Taos/TSV
We enjoyed a wonderful retreat for a week, October 15-22, in the Pinon Paradise Casita. The casita is in a quiet, peaceful setting nestled in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The numerous Aspen and Cottonwood trees with their leaves in their golden autumn hues accentuated the lovely-terraced landscaping producing a magically serene atmosphere. The fire pit area offers a comfortable spot for reading, enjoying the view of Taos Mountain which is scared to the Taos Puebloan Indigenous People, gazing at the cosmic spectacle of countless stars at night, or just sitting there, shutting the brain down, and just enjoying the vibe! The adobe casita is picturesque without and wonderfully appointed with in. The view out the window wall offers one the opportunity to enjoy the colorful morning sunrises and the equally beautiful evening sunsets. The sitting room furniture is comfortable making reading a delight. The casita, surrounding grounds and the mountains are magical. If you are looking to enjoy a restful, renewing experience with all the beauty that North Central New Mexico offers, then you have no further took than the magical Pinon Paradise Casita!

The Casita is nice little house outside of Taos. We enjoyed the area around the property. We just lounged around and enjoyed the quiet. It does have a great view of the Taos mountain.

Great location and comfortable place to stay
The location is amazing with great views. The casita had everything you would need and was very comfortable. There is a little seating area near our casita and I enjoyed sipping coffee a with sunrise for our stay and saying hello to the neighbor dogs doing their morning rounds. There was another family in the main house and since the shared outdoor spaces and path are so close to their home I felt uncomfortable using those areas. I understood they were shared, but I didn’t want to intrude on what felt like their space. Not a negative, but it should be noted if it bothers you to share space between houses.

A great get away
The casita is really beautiful and the setting is peaceful and wonderful views. We had a wonderful time and loved the area. The owner was great about communicating with us. A couple of suggestions, For the directions have them coming from both Taos and also from the north. The cleaning crew needs to sweep under and behind the furniture to truly makes this a clean place when guests arrive. Thank you for sharing your beautiful place with us!!

Memorial Weekend Getaway.
My family and I had a very relaxing and peaceful time staying here. Amy is a wonderful host, the property was clean, stocked, and the photos don’t do the property justice as it’s more beautiful in person. The views of the mountains and the night stars are incredible. We enjoyed the hot tub and spent time in Taos at the local restaurants and shops. It was a short traveling distance and so nice we still had privacy staying in the mountains. It was a much needed getaway and I highly recommend. Thank you again Amy for everything!!

A beautiful place to stay near Taos that is very cozy and has wonderful accomodations. The motion detector in the bedroom weirded us out a little. But overall it was an amazing place to stay! I would absolutely go back.

Quiet Secluded Mountain Oasis!
We had an incredible stay and the property was beautiful. We woke up one morning to a winter wonderland which was a treat. The house is up a dirt road that got quite muddy with the weather but we had a four wheel drive and had no issue getting there. It was dark when we arrived and we did have a hard time locating the house as there was no cell service and the signage for the address to the house was difficult to find. We realized that the unit is in the back after trying to enter into the front house. But once we figured out where it was, it wasn't an issue. The house was well appointed and had everything we needed to be comfortable. The kitchen was great as well! The bed was super comfortable and it had a very cozy living area. Being that the house is in the mountains there were quite a few spiders that came to visit and many cob webs throughout the house. So just note that if you are afraid of spiders... The jacuzzi was amazing and a great way to relax and unwind after a day on the slopes. This is such a beautiful quiet space to get away from it all and relax. If we are ever in the area we would definitely stay again! We loved it!

Great house, difficult circumstances
The casita is in a great location. The views are fantastic, and the location is secluded from other residences. Amy mentioned that she was having difficulty getting cleaning staff to the Casita and it showed in the overall condition of the property. When we reached out, Amy tried to make it right, but she was unable to get staff to clean at such short notice. Overall it was a good experience, but we had hoped for a cleaner space at this price point.

The casita was everything I had hoped it would be and more. The property location is absolutely incredible. The views out the window could be in a calendar. Bird watchers would really enjoy staying here. My husband and I had the most relaxing vacation. The casita had everything we needed with a well stocked kitchen and linens/bedding closet. It's the perfect retreat in the mountains!

This beautiful, comfortable space exceeded our expectations! The casita is so comfortable and spacious, with a large kitchen and a comfortable bed. And the grounds are lovely, with a flower and veggie garden and a fire pit sitting area with a beautiful view. There is also a water feature which attracts many beautiful birds. The host is a great communicator. We will definitely stay there again!

My husband and I, along with our 1 year old, stayed here for several nights. It is more beautiful in person than the photos can depict. Peaceful, comfortable, cozy. Know before you go: this is rural and there was no shortage of bugs & spiders in the house. Not a nuisance or indicative of uncleanness, just part of the location. The shared parts of the property are located just outside of the other home. We opted not to utilize the fire pit and garden due to this and the party that was already staying there seemed to want privacy. This is not a negative for the listing, just to be aware in case your personality is similar to mine and you would feel awkward like you are intruding on their space. We had plenty of space by the Casita to play outside and walk around a bit, which was fantastic. There were plenty of extra linens, comfy blankets for the cool nights, and the best stocked kitchen we have had the pleasure of renting. This is one of our new favorite vacation rentals.
