"We had an amazing stay. My husband and I had our morning coffee watching the monkeys in the trees. We had beach access across the street, stores with a minute walk. Cabin was clean and cozy. Easy to talk with the property manager. Got meet the owner She was lovely. We are already planning on going back staying here."

"Hotels.com has the location marked wrong on the map. It is NOT anywhere close to the beach. Luckily I was able to hitch a ride into Tamarindo and get a rental car for the duration of my stay. I probably would not have considered this place if it was marked correctly on the map, but I'im glad I stayed here. That being said, everything else about this place is great! "The Host Ben is very responsive and kind. I wanted to experience living among the Ticos and we loved it. This place is unique and cozy for the 4 of us girls. There are some minor upgrades needed but we are so easygoing that it was not a bother. We survived a huge thunderstorm and no power for just a couple hours. The property has 2 cats. Also each bedroom has air conditioning and we enjoyed Netflix in the evening. This area is definitely a surf town and several restaurants walking distance....

"This place was great. Though Avellanas Beach was a short walk from the property, it felt secluded and remote. I could hear howler monkeys in the trees, which was cool. The house was gated and felt safe and had all the amenities we needed for our stay. I would gladly visit again."

Wonderful Staff, Awful Jungle insects

"We had a wonderful stay here. The staff are all super friendly and would bend over backwards to help with whatever we needed. The breakfast buffet could use a little variety from day to day. The pool and the views were beautiful. My only complaint would be about the Langostas ( Giant Grasshoppers) that would cover the doors and walkways outside the rooms. You had to be extremely cautious opening your door or they would get into your room and no one wants to sleep with a 4 inch flying grasshopper in their room. They would be in the elevators at night also. They would unexpectedly fly at you. They don't bite but they have barbs on their legs that can scratch you. I know we were in a jungle but it seems there should be some kind of fumigation that would keep them away."
