Bitterroot Sky Cottage-What A View!

Escape to the heart of the Bitterroot valley and immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature with a stay at this new 1 bedroom cottage offering you the perfect blend of comfort and adventure. Spectacular views of the Bitterroot mountains greet you in a cozy and private setting – who could ask for more! At Bitterroot Sky Cottage you will be close to all that the magnificent Bitterroot valley has to offer. Hiking and biking trails abound; fish and boat the nearby blue-ribbon Bitterroot River or local lakes. If you like to play in the snow, several possibilities exist for Nordic and alpine skiing. There are numerous historical sites to visit and cultural events to attend. Historic downtown Stevensville will delight you with its small-town shops, cafes, and fine-dining restaurants.
And then there is simply….relaxing. Soak in the views of the surrounding mountains from the comfort of a deep wrap-around porch or relax by the firepit and watch a dazzling sunset over the peaks. Get up close and personal with local wildlife as deer and other animals often wander by.
This charming cottage is fully furnished and features a living room area with comfy sofas, original artwork and a large separate bedroom and full bathroom. There are games to play and books to read; connect to WiFi or watch dvd’s or movies on the Amazon Firestick TV.
The adjoining kitchen is stocked with all your cooking essentials plus there is a barbecue grill on the porch. Dine inside, outside, or in town at your pleasure.
When it’s time to retire for the evening, comfortable beds and peaceful quiet await you. The bedroom can be configured for either a king sized bed or 2 separate twins. Also, one of the living room sofas folds out into a third single if needed.
As hosts, we can assist you with local needs and we’ll give you the level of privacy you desire. We are a small working farm on 11 acres and both the cottage and our home are situated there. You are welcome to roam the property; visit the honeyberry patch and maybe see what we're up to in the vegetable garden. Bitterroot Sky Cottage beckons you to come and enjoy the many possibilities for adventure.

Blaine and Sue were super kind and their home is incredible. I found this to be a flawless rental home experience and can’t recommend this place enough. The location is near enough to Missoula to be convenient but far enough away that you get to enjoy the quiet and the beautiful mountains that surround the property. Our stay at Bitterroot Sky Cottage was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found a special place. The cottage was impeccably clean, brimming with charm, and thoughtfully stocked with everything one might need. Blaine and Sue, our gracious hosts, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort both before and during our stay. Their warmth and friendliness made us feel like we were visiting old friends. Each evening, we were treated to breathtaking sunsets from the porch, easily some of the best we’ve ever seen. The tranquility of the cottage’s setting provided the perfect escape from the relentless pace of city life and work. Nestled less than an hour from the Missoula airport, Bitterroot Sky Cottage offers an ideal blend of seclusion and accessibility. We relished exploring nearby towns—Lolo, Florence, Stevensville, Hamilton, and Darby—immersing ourselves in local dining, fishing, shopping, and adventures. The location couldn’t have been more perfect for our daily excursions. We left feeling rejuvenated and already dreaming of our next visit. We had a wonderful 10 day stay at Bitterroot Cottage! Wonderful location with a beautiful view of the mountains from the living room window and the front porch. The place was clean, bed was comfortable, we had everything we needed and the most wonderful hosts ever! They were very attentive to anything we needed, gave us great suggestions for places to visit and things to do and were just so friendly and kind! Blaine and Sue put much thought into making their cottage an enjoyable and relaxing place to stay. I will honestly say that it is beyond a 10 star rating! I highly recommend this place to anyone traveling in this area and and we hope we can come back again someday ! Mountain Views & Meadowlarks
You know it’s a great place when you’re sad to leave it! We stayed at this delightful cottage in April 2024 while enjoying a few days of fly fishing. This cozy and comfortable cottage is located on a beautiful property with absolutely amazing views of the mountains and valley. The place has been thoughtfully stocked with amenities; is well organized, pristine clean and well maintained. Hosts Blaine and Sue are gracious and welcoming, and have thought of every possible detail towards their guests’ comfort and convenience. I really can’t say enough about Blaine & Sue - such good people and tremendous VRBO hosts. We enjoyed many evenings on the patio taking in the mountain view while listening to the meadowlarks. The town of Stevensville is a short drive away - a charming place to explore with quaint shops, restaurants and coffee shops. We have visited this area several times over the years and can’t wait to return.

Perfect In Every Way
The cottage was perfect! It had everything we needed. The scenery from the cottage porch was often breathtaking. The cottage was a peaceful and comfortable refuge from our several fly fishing and hiking excursions…both of which were nearby. From the beginning to the end, the hosts could not have been more friendly and accommodating. We hope to make it back to Montana and Bitterroot Sky Cottage soon!

Can't say enough good things about both the property manager and the property itself. Location is perfect mid Valley, the views are stunning and the property managers are so thoughtful in every aspect. The home is brand new, super clean and is stocked with literally anything you need. If by chance you needed anything else, they are so accommodating. We had an amazing week and will definitely be back!

Lovely Bitterroot cottage stay
First, the hosts are amazingly gracious and have put a lot of thought into amenities and the guest experience, with recommendations for activities, local attractions, and restaurants. Communication was excellent, and the hosts asked for feedback on our stay and what the cottage provides. The cottage is modern, comfortable, and spotlessly clean, with cozy outside space and luscious gardens. We learned much about honey berries, as the hosts grow them in their garden. The view takes your breath away. Perfect location to explore both the Missoula area to the north and Bitterroot Valley and rivers to the south. We mainly hiked and fly fished, but there are lots of other things to do in the area. Downtown Stevensville is quaint, with cafes, shops, and restaurants. Easy access to grocery stores, gas, etc. This cottage is perfect for a couple's getaway. We would definitely make a return visit.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about the property and the owners. The cottage is beautifully decorated, clean, and has a fully stocked kitchen for all your cooking desires. The owners were friendly, and helpful about things to do and explore in the area. We couldn’t have picked a better location and to make it even better, the owners were great! This is a great place to relax and get away from it all. Great location. Beautiful views of the Sapphire and the Bitterroot’s!

Extraordinary accomodation complete with birdsong, deer and incredible views. This beautiful cottage is truly a home away from home, clean, comfortable and complete with everything you need and then some. Very kind and accomodating hosts who desire that your time here be exactly what you want. They even shared some of their farm fresh eggs with us.
