"Building very large and very old so the upkeep is going to be a challenge. Couldn't turn the heating down or off in the bathroom so it was nuclear hot in the room when we entered. Had to sleep with the old sash window open. Stayed in room 52 which had no lift access, massive bathroom, ceilings really high, not many power sockets for charging your electricals, TV off to the side of the bed in front of the window which made shutting curtains a challenge. "Good standard rooms (although lift wasn't working and I had to lug my case up stairs). Pleasant reception staff and very helpful and I was able to check in early which was really appreciated. Had lunch in the bar which wasn't very impressive. Also there were Xmas parties going on and I think I was next door to 4am revellers. Might be a good idea to group party goers together and any single bookings, like myself, in another wing!!! Overall, though, no serious problems and I would stay here...
