"Very charming historic inn. Staff was nice and helpful upon check-in, and when i accidentally locked my key in the room. I booked the Bouvier room on the 3rd floor which was quiet and comfortable. Being a historic inn, I went in with the expectation that it would be low frills, which is was. But for the price, I think it's a great option for anyone staying in the Newtown area who wants historic charm and to be in the walkable State Street area. "

"We were greeted by a man in a tattered sweatshirt in the main house. Then We were taken to the room in a carriage house across a dark parking lot. There were no lights in the entry and there was an sunken entry to the room we nearly fell into the room. There were remains from the previous logger including dirty glasses and trash. "This was the closest I will be to a fairytale cottage. I loved everything about it and my only regret is not staying longer. Kurt and Eleanor are very sweet. The area is beautiful to walk around. "Beautiful and unique location. Hotel is very nicely designed and our river front room had a truly breathtaking view. One minor incident upon a Monday morning checkout after spending two nights, meals, drinks, etc. over 3 days we requested 30 mins extended time on check out so that we could have time for a quick breakfast in the Odette's restaurant (not included in room rate) and this request was denied by the front office staff member. I believe this was the result of a very junior employee's lack of experience/judgement or training in hotel customer service. Not a huge deal, but left an unnecessarily negative impression at the end of an otherwise wonderful stay at Odette's. Requesting a 30 min later checkout on a Monday morning in order to spend more money in the Odette's restaurant seemed like a reasonable request, but this staff member didn't seem to think so. Not something you would expect in the level of hotel I am sure the Refined Hospitality Group is aiming for with Odette's."
