The property, conveniently located for exploring Seaside, Carmel-by-the-Sea, and the Monterey area, offered the most reasonable pricing we could find, which initially drew us in. The house itself is charming with a spacious backyard, making a good first impression.
However, our stay was marred by a few issues. We were greeted by leftover dog poop in the backyard upon arrival—a less than ideal start. The bathroom sinks are unusually small, which made even simple tasks like washing hands messy and inconvenient. We also experienced a random power outage during our stay. While the power did eventually come back on its own, and the host was communicative, it was an inconvenience nonetheless.
Additionally, the location, while central, comes with its downsides. The street is fairly noisy with fast-moving traffic that was disruptive to our sleep in both bedrooms.
Overall, while the house is generally sufficient for a vacation stay, the value for money was disappointing. Given the cost, one might expect more from the accommodations or consider opting for a hotel, potentially even a luxury one, for a comparable price. Based on our experience, I wouldn’t book this property again as it didn’t meet our expectations for comfort and value.
