Scottsdale Quarter is a large shopping complex with theaters, restaurants, health and beauty centers, offices, a park-like courtyard and water play area for children.
The open-air center in Scottsdale opened for the public in the spring of 2009. The mix of modern retail, dining and lifestyle venues sits on a 28-acre (11-hectare) site. This urban district, with more than 50 shops, a dozen eateries and other venues, is still evolving.
If you come here for shopping, expect a good mix of stores to suit all ages and lifestyles, but most products are fairly high-end in price. You can find internationally renowned brands such as Apple and Armani, but also chic local clothing and crafts outlets that you won’t find anywhere else.
After you’ve stocked up on fashion, body products and electronic gadgets, there’s still plenty left to do. Get a new hairstyle, participate in a yoga class, visit a bar or enjoy dinner and wine while watching a movie at the iPic Theater. If you want to get creative, don’t miss Make Meaning where children and adults make soaps, candles, jewelry and more. The daily membership fee is affordable, especially if you come here for an afternoon.
For a chill-out session head to The Quad, a central public gathering space with fountains, grassy areas and palm trees. Children can splash around in the pop-jet fountain to get refreshed. You can watch them play from one of the nearby lounge chairs. The Quad is located within the mall, just west of 73rd Place.
The quarter prides itself on its selection of restaurants with distinct atmospheres and cuisines, from Latin-influenced dishes to Japanese sushi and classic Italian cuisine. North American food and local treats are also on offer.
Scottsdale Quarter is open every day. It is about 20 miles (32 kilometers) from Phoenix by car and there are two parking lots.
