We stayed in the Barracuda bungalow. It was perfect—one bedroom, full kitchen, covered deck, adequate WiFi, quiet, powerful a/c, plenty of space—for what we needed. Space is maximized at BV, so the bungalows are pretty tight but neither noise nor traffic were a problem. Food was good, drinks were great. Staff really couldn’t be any better. They’re friendly, helpful & always available. There is no beach, but rather a long pier. Be sure to take advantage of the free kayak. You will need a golf cart if you plan on spending any time in San Pedro (which you should). Some might see this as an inconvenience, but I really enjoyed driving around town, immersed in the hustle & bustle. Navigation, from the south end of the island all the way to Secret Beach was not a problem, even w/o mobile service.

My recent 4-day stay at Thatch Caye Resort was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we arrived, the friendly staff made us feel right at home. The oceanfront cabana room was a dream—waking up to the sound of the waves and the stunning view was a highlight of our trip. We spent our days snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters, and the resort’s team ensured we had everything we needed for a fantastic experience. Everyone was incredibly accommodating, going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our time. One of the unexpected delights was the island’s friendly dogs, who added a unique charm to our stay. If you're looking for a place to unwind and connect with nature, Thatch Caye is the perfect spot. I can't recommend it enough!

STAY HERE! The best experience I’ve had at any resort ever. The staff is lovely, the food is fantastic, and the island itself is right out of your wildest dream. At night, there are noises akin to what you’d hear on a ship, or deep in the woods—which may be relaxing to some and annoying go others. Also, the hot water can be an otter finicky. But trust me, you will not care! This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I wouldn’t miss for anything! No other vacation has compared.

Get in the line-up early to choose your seat. If you can tolerate the sunshine, the best seats are on top.

Verified traveller

Took this ferry a total of 4 times. Everytime they left on time and all staff were very friendly and helpful. They take your luggage for you and give you receipts for them. Was no issue with our luggage. Do not show up right before its time to leave and think you're getting on, it is a busy busy ferry..always full. Show up, get your ticket and have a beer while you wait. There are some shops there and food also available while you wait.
