"The property is nice for the price. The renovated rooms are nice and clean. Some of the rooms have old crusty fridges and some may be a little dusty but overall nice and clean for the price. The staff is nice and friendly...always considerate."

"It was perfectly situated for our son’s December graduation from Wingate University. Host was responsive to my questions and allowed for an earlier check-in. We hosted family who flew in from out of town for the weekend. Such a nice touch to be decorated for the holidays, complete outside lights. We had a small party of about 25 visit Friday evening. Plenty of parking as the lot next door is empty and for our use. The fire pit was a hit! The dry weather allowed the deck to be used. Inside had a great table for playing games. The kitchen is well stocked, beds are comfortable, good water, pressure, plenty of hot water, overall a very pleasant stay. Everything we needed! I’d highly recommend for a family stay, especially since it is only 6 minutes to Wingate! If you are uncomfortable with cameras inside and outside, you may want to consider that when booking. We saw one camera in the kitchen, one at the front door, and one on the back deck. "

"Upon arrival we saw several dogs, a goat and horse in the yard. I called the owner and he came out the back. He said those animals would stay in the front yard so we’d have to enter and exit through the back door. My husband and myself walked through and the elderly owner was kind but underprepared. The house smelled like dogs, dogs ran up to us and actually peed on the carpet infront of us. The owner stated his wife had recently passed and he had been trying to clean for weeks. We felt bad for him but due to the lack of cleanliness, clutter, animals, several dog cages throughout the property, no clean bedding, dirty floors, dirty kitchen (tables and dishes had dog hair on it) etc… we had to leave the property because we had drove 14 hours from Chicago to spend Thanksgiving there with family. Unfortunately we had to find a hotel room to all of us. It was 6 children and 3 adults in the car and we were just in utter disbelief at what we were walking into. Vrbo refuses to give us a refund and said the refund is at the discretion of the owner. They said every time they call him to talk about the complaint he hangs us. We really would like a refund and an apology for the inconvenience. We’ll never book through Vrbo again! They said this owner can still post and rent his home out but they won’t return our money …. This is crazy! "
