We had a nice stay our room was good ,comfortable bed. The front desk was very helpful. A great breakfast every day. The area is nice for shopping and only two blocks away from the beach.
Only the wifi was very, very slow.
We loved our 4 day stay at this hotel. The room was great (minus the view) and the location was perfect. The breakfast buffet was also really good with loads of variety and amazing tropical fresh fruit. What stood out most though was the service. So accommodating and everyone tried their hardest to communicate in English with us. One morning we slept in and arrived late to breakfast as it was closing at 10 and the staff were even kind enough to rush around and find us things to eat even though it was already half packed up. We'd recommend this hotel for a great spot in Rio close to Copacabana beach in a very safe feeling area.
Wonderful staff expecially Washington at the front desk

Stolen credit card from the room, they didnt care
Everything was going right until we checked out and hour later found out that a credit card and a driver license were stolen from a bag that never left the hotel room during our stay.
Someone with access to the room took them and used about USD3000 from that visa card. We noticed it one we arrived to Chile and told the police and had to initiate the process of blocking the documents... a waste of time and a terrible way to finish the holidays. We send an email to the hotel manager advising about the robbery, assuming they would like to know to prevent this to happen again but they never reply. That was 3 weeks ago so now they get their negative review as they deserve.
The hotel rooms are comfortable and clean. However, what sets this hotel apart is the excellent customer service from all of the staff. From early check in to late check out all of the staff at the hotel went out of their way to make my stay great. It's rare these days to find great customer service. This hotel has exceptional customer service.
We had a great experience. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to help us. The location was perfect and ideal to get to the subway and the main beach area. Breakfast was offered everyday and was an excellent addition to everyday. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend the Copacabana Sol Hotel to everyone. It gave us a great flavor of Brazilian hospitality and a typical Brazilian hotel in the heart of Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
I stayed for week during the olympics and the hotel was a great base. Not far from the beach and also the metro station. The staff were perfect and nothing was too much trouble. I arrived in the middle of the night mych later than expected and they all helped me settle in easily and comfortably . Great holiday made better by the lovely hotel and staff.

Copacabana Sol visit Nov. 11-18
My roomm (especially the bathroom) was extremely small. I was there for 7 days. The staff was very helpfull, as much as they could. The location was good, close to the beach, and everything else, like laudry, shopping, etc. It is very noisy at night, especially around 2-3 am when the sanitation crews come through on the streets. The free wifi is extremely slow also

Met expectations of three star hotel
Room was quite big
My third stay at this hotel. It offers simple clean comfortable accommodation and can offer excellent value. The staff here are excellent. Very friendly and welcoming and they all do their very best to assist their guests. This has certainly been my experience.
Breakfast is good and satisfying. Very good WIFI compared to other hotels, and good location. I will continue to look out for this hotel in future.

Family trip
Good value- no frills, good buffet. Close to beach, and metro. It is older hotel w/small elevator, small rooms very basic. Bathroom shower needs cleaning for grout but did have lot of water pressure you don't usually get anywhere.

In need of renovations
Almost all the rooms suffer from a constant noise of the extractor of the kitchen and don't allow you to sleep properly, the bathrooms are dirty with mold on the walls and some with flooding in the shower cubicle. After several attempts to make our stay as comfortable as possible and seeing three rooms, it is clear that the whole building needs an urgent renovation.
Only one elevator working.rooms with cold marble floor and white unromantic lights.cheap blankets.not very romantic. Construction noise all day from 8 am. Breakfast moderate. Not bad for the right orice. Would not come back
The Hotel was about average.Breakfasts were modest. The room was compact with ablutions above average. The room door opened into a poorly ventilated foyer that was hot and uncomfortable. The lift was very small-could accommodate 2 persons without luggage. We could have got better value for THE APPROX R1200-00 per night that we paid at surrounding hotels situated closer to the beachfront area
We had a bad experience with the hotel. When we came to the hotel we were notified that we were transferred to a different hotel due to a problem they encountered with a few rooms. The hotel personal said that they had no way to contact us. I am sure that if the issue was a problem with a payment they would be able to find our email!
We were transferred to a close by hotel (Bandeirantes) which we were told was better. If this is the case I can not imagine how bad is the Copacabana hotel!
We came as a group of a few friends - we were transferred and our friends stayed at this hotel. Our friends didn't have a much better experience than we did. This hotel is basically about location.
AVOID THIS HOTEL. When we reached the hotel we got our first surprise. We were asked to move to a different hotel nearby because apparently their rooms were not "in a good condition." We were also told that essentially we don't have any other option because the whole of Copacabana was already fully booked as this was high season. They didn't even send us a single email and the whole thing was an utter surprise. So two couples out of our group of 4 couples were moved to a different hotel. Both the hotels were really really bad, with an emphasis on bad if it wasn't clear. The rooms were tiny and pathetic in both hotel with an even worse staff and room service. Just when we thought it couldn't get any worse, we realized that there was no wifi in the hotel. They informed us that there were some issues with the internet. Overall, THE worse hotel that I have ever stayed at.
