Holiday with my husband
Did not even come close to our expectations. We checked in just to have somewhere to catch our breath and look for alternative accommodation. Left without talking to the host as we didn't want to waste any more time there. It was a converted garage and the so called courtyard was non excistent as your car needed to be parked in what was in fact the driweway.

Lovely place, lovely apartment, lovely owner!
My husband and I decided to visit Basilicata for the scenery and the old hill towns and we were not disappointed. It is a beautiful area with many places to visit, and everyone was so friendly! The main purpose of our trip was photographic, my husband being a camera club and RPS member. We have stayed in many apartments around Europe, and The Flowers House must rate as one of the best. Very clean and comfortable, it has been decorated and equipped by the owner, Liana, who has a great eye for detail and style. Liana herself could not have been more kind and helpful, and her offerings of home made food were delicious. If only the weather had been better.....but we made the best of it and managed to get some decent images. Will we go back? Possibly, simply because the apartment was so good and the owner so helpful. The only drawback from our point of view was that we had to travel quite long distances to visit the hill towns of interest e.g. Matera. Potenza itself does not have a great deal to offer from the photographic perspective being too modern for our taste, although the escalators to the town are quite an experience. A car is essential, and Italian drivers are quite mad!

Late Summer Vacation in Potenza
Though the weather conditions were not summerly, we enjoyed our stay in Potenza due to warm welcome and beautifully decorated and comfortable apartment. We had everything we needed to feel ourselves like at home. We could cook everything we wanted in a good equipped kitchen. From the very beginning we got usefull information about sightseeing possibilities in Basilicata. This region of Italy is underestimated, offers many hiking opportunities. And those who need a nature experience without tourist masses can all have it here. After all we had a feeling that we visited the original part of Italy.

Semplicemente ... grazie

fine place to stay in basilicata
The flowershouse is a well eqipped and homely flat, with terrace, where we liked to be and come back from several fine trips into the beautiful landscape of basilicata. Potenza is a town worth to visit, especially the old town, good to reach by town-specific escalators. Liana is a very kind and attentive host, who provided us with lots of information about the region, the places of interest and things to do there. Itś absolutely a fine place to stay.

Merveilleux !

Very pleasant stay at Liana's place
We refer to the previous reviews. The high standard of this villa, approved by previous guests is still accurate. Kitchen facilities are absolut opulent, we did not miss anything - unlike at other places we visited before. Liana and her family are very warm-hearted and hospitable people. We would recommend the Flower House to our friends without hesitating one second. For visiting the surrounding mountain area a car definetly is essential. Outside Potenza city limits there is no more heavy traffic, the City center should better be visited by bus instead by self-driving. The fabulous escalators unfortunately were out of work at the time of our visit and it did not seem as if they would operate again pretty soon. Liana can advice you restaurants and sightseeing of any kind , a visit of Matera is a must but there are many more places well worth a visit.

A Perfect Base in Basilicata
We were very comfortable and at home in this lovely apartment, which is on the ground floor, below the host family's living space. The apartment is well-furnished and equipped to a very high standard. Liana has thought of everything, and invested a lot of herself in the decoration and arrangement of the apartment. The wifi connection was excellent - reliable and fast. There is secure parking in the front yard as well, which is very helpful. We could not fault this accommodation, and were very glad we had chosen to stay there. Shops and services are nearby, and the city of Potenza just a few minutes away. For those guests travelling in Basilicata, the apartment is near the main roads to Matera, Amalfi, Maratea and other attractions and places of interest. It is a lovely place to return to after a day out exploring this fascinating region. From the moment we booked to the time we left, Liana was a charming and attentive host. She provided valuable and comprehensive information on the Basilicata region, and communicated with us on a daily basis either in person or online.

Enjoyable experience
The house was very nice, an open concept. It is recommended to have a car to move from there. The owners are a beautiful family that speaks English and Spanish, so we did not have any problems communicating. At our arrival, they had some food for us to enjoy while we stayed there, very nice of them. They had plenty of brochures about places to visit in the area, They gave us suggestions on where to go, and we really enjoyed our stay there. The place was very clean and neat, just like the pictures. Liana was wonderful, she invited us to her house upstairs to meet her beautiful family, her daughters played the piano for us. Liana and family. Thank You for a beautiful experience.. Miriam

Staying at The Flowers House is like staying with family!
Liana and Gianni make you feel welcome from the moment that you meet them. The apartment is warm and inviting and has everything you need and more for a great stay. Liana provides a wealth of information of things to do, as well a wonderfully stocked library of brochures of the local area. Day trips are easy from this location. We went to Matera, Polignano, and Sorrento, as well as spending time in Potenza. We were lucky enough to be in Potanza for the Sfilata dei Turchi (Procession of the Turks). This is a celebration of the Patron Saint of Potenza. We attended the festival and the parade. The parade was a pageant telling the story of “Turks Day” and 3+ hours long. Liana and her family invited us to celebrate with them. Such a wonderful event to be part of. We loved staying at The Flowers House and can’t wait to come back to visit. Kristin and Erik

Angenehme Gastgeber in Potenza / Basilikata

a home away from home
We travelled to Potenza with our small son and really enjoyed the flower house and Lianas hospitality! Even if the weather was not ideal we were warm and cozy and appreciated the good facilities of flower house to cook dinner and play indoors. Liana was very helpful, provided toys and helped with ideas about places to visit in the region. We will definitely try to come back - but maybe in summer or autumn to enjoy the hammock in the garden!

A beautiful and warm home
I had chosen to visit this area at the last minute and liana was extremely accommodating. She is constantly available for questions and directions and since I was traveling solo, that was extremely important to me. The apartment is absolutely adorable (better than the pictures), warm, comfortable and extremely well equipped. Liana has thought of everything. She even arranged for a Personal guide for me to take me to the beautiful villages of Pisticci, Matera, and Castelmazzano where I was able to reconnect with family. It was a beautiful stay.
