Great location and host
We very much loved our stay in Porto. The host provided personal check in where she gave us map lesson and recommendations for things to do. She also treated us with complimentary port. The room was everything we needed. The view is great, but unfortunately construction outside made it less enjoyable.

Luxury in Porto
Beautiful and luxurious apartment with all the touches of a 5 star hotel and the peacefulness of a neighborhood. Isabel was in communication from the moment we booked to when we checked out. Many suggestions of things to do and places to eat. She reserved tours for us which took the stress out of planning. We had the most wonderful driver and tour guide and a lovely breakfast delivered every morning all arranged by Isabel. We were able to walk everywhere. She is an exceptional host and her apartment is a perfect place to stay. It was a dream vacation! When we come back to Porto, we will always stay at Isabel’s lovely home.

Wonderful Property AND Host!
Isabel’s apartment is beautifully decorated and centrally located! I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Porto. The host, Isabel, also went above and beyond - providing us with a list of recommendations (restaurants, cafes, parks, events, etc.), and helping us book a driver to/from the property. You can tell she really loves her city and finds joy in sharing Porto with her guests. We hope to return to Porto, and will absolutely book w/ Isabel again!

Simply Lovely
My husband and I absolutely loved our time in Isabel’s flat. It was beautifully decorated & the river view was perfect. But more than that, Isabel was a wonderful hostess. We communicated for months ahead of our stay, helping me make plans. When we arrived, she sat with us for about an hour giving us outstanding advice of where to go in Porto (marking everything on a map). She even booked the Douro River Valley tour for us. And her restaurant recommendations were amazing. She also arranged breakfast for us that was made by a local woman and was delivered right on time which was delightful. I highly recommend staying in Isabel’s VRBO. You won’t be disappointed.

If you book a stay here, Isabel goes out of her way to provide so many things to do, from restaurants, to tours, to pretty much everything you’ll need for your time in Porto! The location was perfect for us. Check in and check out was smooth. We would definitely stay again!

Amazing Time In Porto
Isabel's apartment was the perfect location for us to explore the city and enjoy the festival of Sao Jao while in Porto. Isabel greeted us upon our arrival. She and her son helped us with our luggage and spent time telling us about all of the recommended sights and activities around the city. The apartment was immaculate and a a perfect location for walking to many of the beautiful sites in the city. We were able to enjoy a view of the river from the apartment also. Isabel was so responsive from the time we booked the apartment until the time we checked out. She provided a lot of information about the city and answered any questions we had. We highly recommend Isabel's apartment and hope to visit again one day.

Wonderful apartment in old town Porto, great view of Douro River
The Host was phenomenal, provided lots of information, very helpful. Apartment is beautiful, clean, modern decor in very old building, opens directly onto steep, narrow stone road. View of Douro River from windows. Great location, short walk to River and center city sites. About 30 stair walk up, but worth it for the view and highly recommend if mobility not an issue. Added bonus is neighborhood laundress who does wash/dry/fold for €5,50 per load!

Kudos to Isobel’s support team
We agree with everything previous reviewers have said about Isabel’s attentiveness. Her recommendations for a personal 3 hour Tour of Porto and a personal All day Tour of the Douro Valley were excellent. Interestingly the two guides both regarded her highly as did the two taxi drivers that she arranged for us for transportation to and from the airport. She doesn’t suffer fools gladly. We were particularly worried about the 3:00 am pick-up. Would he actually arrive ? This was a needless concern. He was at the door on time. There is an old saying about “there being a good man or woman behind every successful man or woman”. In Isobel’s case i would say she has a very competent group of outside sources behind her.

Isabel was a fantastic host, met us at the property with a map and suggestions for places to go and things to do, property was well kept and very clean. One word of warning, the property is on quite a steep hill, so those ith a large amount of luggage and/or those not comfortable with hills should be careful.

My wife and I chose this place based on reviews of not only the property but even more so based on the five star reviews of the owner / host. This is the first VRBO I have stayed at where the place and the reviews did not come close to how great this place is and how amazing the host is. Isabel went above and beyond in all aspects. She was responsive and full of information. Isabel helped to arrange an incredible marriage proposal that exceeded anything that I could have arranged on my own. Isabel is proud of her city and is eager to share it with you. She has extensive local knowledge, and business connections to help you have the greatest experience in Porto and the local areas.

Beautiful city - great apartment!
From the moment we first contacted Isabel, it was obvious she loved both Porto and her home. She was very clear in her communications with us and built up our expectations - she did not disappoint! Porto has a lot to offer in terms of history, architecture, landscape etc and Isabel provided many useful suggestions re tours, sites and restaurants. We found her home to be very clean and comfortable. As others have noted while it is conveniently located to major sites, her home is in a quiet area of town. Isabel provided useful parking suggestions and we were able to secure a spot within minutes of the apartment. We look forward to visiting Porto in the future and hopefully able to again enjoy the hospitality of Isabel.

Paradise in Porto
Puerto was the first city we visited during our trip to Portugal. It could not have been a better experience, and it was made much richer due to the care and attentiveness of our host, Isabel. The home was beautiful, clean, and located precisely where we had hoped.—close to the center of activities, yet in a peaceful neighborhood. Great stay in Porto
Our stay at this spot in Porto was basically perfect. My girl and I spent two weeks in Europe, traveling to Porto, Lisbon, Braga, Cintra, Positano, Amalfi, Capri, Pompeii, and we had the best time in Porto! Isabel was an excellent host and was a key reason why our stay was so enjoyable; she met us on the first day and spent quite some time pointing out several things to do in the area which were all great recommendations. For the property itself, there's really too many positive things to write about the spot; the size and layout, the view, the location and surrounding area, the amenities, it was really excellent all around. Now, while we do rate this spot 5/5 stars and would absolutely go back, there are a couple minor things to keep in mind. First thing - the upstairs neighbor made a bit of noise late at night...I'm talking 1AMish. A bit annoying, but nothing that can't be solved. Second, access to the spot is down a very long and very narrow road...so if there's anything blocking your Uber or whatever, it could be delayed a long time. So just slot in an extra 30 minutes for that if it's time sensitive (airport, train, dinner reservation if you're not walking). Neither of these are a big deal at all, and we highly recommend staying here!!

I could go on and on, but the host Isabel, from the first 5 minutes after booking was messaging me about what we could expect and if we needed anything. For three years we planned our dream vacation to Portugal from Canada, our first trip across ‘The Pond’ together. We booked the last leg of our May 2022 trip to Porto and we were happy to finally meet Isabel and check into our VRBO. - we were not disappointed with our accommodations, and the location…ideal! Isabel gave us tips on what to do, where to go and did mention at this time that there was ‘a festival going on for three days and it was free’. We spent our first day settling in and familiarizing ourselves with the area, had a good nights sleep in a very comfortable bed. No complaints up to this point. However, just as our day was to begin, excessively loud music started early in the morning and continued on throughout the day. I did check in with Isabel on this and she advised this was a three day music festival…and unbeknownst to us, music was scheduled almost non-stop from 8:30 a.m to 2:00 a.m into the next day, for the next three days. Given the excessive volume and duration of this festival we sadly had to advise Isabel we would need to relocate. (To note, we love music, but this was well beyond our scale of endurance). We understand Isabel has ‘no control on what takes place outside’ but in our experience in the past when booking a VRBO, we have been notified of construction or events that may have an impact on our stay. I add this in my review only in hopes this may assist in better communication upfront between the host/owner and prospective guests and avoid any disruption that may impact both parties. In fairness to Isabel she did accept out reason for relocating and did reimburse us for a portion of our booking. Thank you. Porto is beautiful, the people are lovely….we hope to return some day. we have been accustomed to being notified from a host of any events or construction that may impact a guest’s stay. I select accommodations based on reviews and communication with the owner or host and I could not have been more pleased with our accommodations or rapport that I developed with Isabel prior to our trip..I only wished we would have been given a heads up on this music festival in advance…we would have changed our dates with her. I only add this in my review because this is an annual event in Porto and other people searching may appreciate knowing this in advance.
