3 bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Beds for 10 guests with additional blow-up mattresses if needed (one queen and one single), and a pack-n-play makes it so even the littlest guest can enjoy their stay. We are very family friendly and tried to think of everything all ages would need at this house to build memories to last a lifetime.

Welcome to Paradise!

Enjoy your get away at this spacious, well appointed home with updated furnishing, top of the line appliances, granite counter tops and cabinets throughout, situated just steps from Gulf of Mexico beaches.

Manasota Key, a quiet barrier island on the Gulf of Mexico is located just south of Longboat Key, Lido Key, Siesta Key, and Casey Key. It is also just north of Fort Meyers and Sanibel Island. You can day trip to explore some of these other beaches and return to the comfort of your own home away from home each night.

The Sugar Shack has been recently updated with new ceramic tile throughout the living areas & kitchen and new carpet in the bedrooms. It comes complete with WIFI and high-speed internet, if you choose to stay "on the grid", however after a day or so in paradise, getting off-the-grid becomes much easier.

The Primary bathroom is finished with a granite counter top, ceramic tile floor, and combination tub shower. Guest bathroom has a granite counter top and a ceramic tile stall shower. There is also an outdoor shower to wash off your sandy feet.

All 3 bedrooms have over-sized closets and televisions for your enjoyment. The primary (upstairs) bedroom has a queen bed, the downstairs bedroom has a queen bed, and the bunk room has a full over full bunk bed with a full put out trundle & an additional twin bed.

Imagine being located on Manasota Key and staying less than 150 yards from the beach!

Lounge in the sun or under the moonlight on the 2nd floor large deck, or enjoy some R&R on the large covered ground lanai spending your time on the porch swing or hammocks. Enjoy your meals under the lanai, the ceiling fans will help keep you cool as you take in all this property has to offer.

At night enjoy sitting by the propane fire as you make S'mores and talk about the memories you created at Manasota Key.

If the beach is more your thing, which we suspect it probably is, fill up the Sugar Shack's beach-wagon with the supply of beach toys for the kids, chairs and umbrella to enjoy the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. We also provide 2 adult Kayaks, 2 kid kayaks, 2 paddle boards, and life jackets that you can be used during your stay (based on the condition from the previous guests).

If fishing is more up your alley use our poles (based on the condition from the previous guests) and fish from the beach, or from Lemon Bay. Both are under 150 short steps away from the Sugar Shack.

Shell & shark tooth hunting is a popular way to also pass the time on Manasota Key, you won't come home empty handed. You will find more shark teeth here than any other beach around us.

Cruise around the Island on one of the bikes or scooters that we provide. We offer lots of sizes of bikes and helmets so that your whole family can enjoy (based on the condition from the previous guests). There is also a bike stroller if needed so the whole family can enjoy this activity.

The Sugar Shack has all of the cooking utensils you need to make your favorite meals at your home away from home. There are several restaurants with live entertainment that are a short jaunt from the home (walking or bike riding distance for most). More than enough places to visit a new one every night during a weeks stay.

Golf, Jet Ski's, Charter Fishing, Snokeling, Dolphin Watching Tours, Parasailing, and Boat rentals are available on the Island, less than 5 minutes away. The Sugar Shack binder will have information on all of these activities to help you plan once you arrive.

Great Home and Location!

Family vacation

Far exceeded expectations!
Cannot say enough good things about this rental! It met every need our family had for the week from beach towels to bikes to Band-Aids to Momentos to bring home our seashells! Very clean and very comfortable. 150 steps to the bay and 150 steps to the sandy beach. Super bikeable to nearby tasty local restaurants too!

An excellent relaxing beach vacation
Sugar Shack is ideally located within steps to either the Gulf or Lemon Bay so sun rises and sunsets are incredible. One could be swimming with manatees or kayaking with dolphins. All amenities are provided so you just need your clothes and toothbrush practically. Great restaurants within walking distance. Yoga on the beach daily. Bikes are provided too. Our family of 4 had the best time. This place is 5 stars!!!!

Little slice of Heaven
Everything about this place was great. The location is awesome, the beach is full of shark teeth just waiting to be found, and just the ease of the rental process was great. They provide everything you could want to spend all day out on the beach, even kayaks for the bay side. Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of vacationing in or around Manasota Key.

A few steps to the beach or bay!
Our family had a wonderful stay and we're hoping to come back again next year! The house is comfortable and spacious with plenty to do indoors and out. We especially enjoyed morning and evening kayaking and paddling on the bay with the dolphins and manatees! The house was so well-equipped that we really shouldn't have packed a full suitcase. All we really needed was a carryon with a swimsuit and toothbrush! Thank you for a great stay full of family memories.

The house was nice, clean, and had everything you need. I highly recommend this listing not just for the house and all that it comes with, but also for the location. The Gulf side beach was really nice, but the bay access is also a dream. We kayaked and paddle boarded and saw lots of wildlife in the water. Would stay here again!

Much Needed Getaway!
The home was just as advertised! We could have packed less than we did because this home certainly had all the basics covered. The location is a close and easy walk to the beach and bay. We had an amazing week soaking up the sun and eating way more food than we should have!

Perfect for our reunion
Sugar Shack was very comfortable for seven of us. We love to cook and the kitchen was well appointed for that purpose. There were plenty of comfortable sleep options for all of us. We enjoyed the deck and patio spaces for hanging out and eating meals. The location was convenient to Stump pass park and the beach with great places to enjoy bike riding, walks and beach sunsets. The space was light, bright, clean and comfortable. Brian and Brittany were easy to contact and responsive to our questions. We had a wonderful our time!

The place is in the best place we could have asked for. Just two minute walk to the beach. The beach was awesome. The house was great. Big enough to have a little privacy when we needed it. Location Location
We loved our stay on Manasota Key, it was just our speed. The small town feel with great spaces to explore made this our favorite Florida destination, I almost hate to draw attention to it. We loved walking the short walk to our beach every day and we enjoyed exploring Stump Pass and Blind Pass beaches. We are spoiled for other beaches now— finding so many sharks teeth was very exciting. We even took the kayaks and paddle boards out in the bay and had a dolphin swim right past us. We will most definitely be back.

Everything you need and more
Comfy and casual cottage in Perfect location, close to everything, yet private and quiet. There was a cold snap during our visit , so we didn’t have a chance to take full advantage of all the amenities— Bikes, beach toys, fishing poles, board games, you name it. It was Impossible for anyone to be bored. We come to Manasota key twice per year to visit family, and this house was probably the best.

Sweet cottage located across the street from Manasota Beach
Enjoyed our Winter break vacation at this lovely cottage near the beach. We loved the separation of sleeping areas making it ideal to stay with our boys downstairs in the lower two bedrooms while my parents took the master bedroom upstairs. The pocket door separating the living area from the master bedroom was a nice touch. Spent every day at the beach enjoying the sun & ocean as well as combing the beach for shells & sharks teeth and shore fishing. We would highly recommend! Great location, good amenities, everything you need!!
This property is located perfectly between the beach and bay, a short walk to either side. There is plenty of space for a family of 6. Great amenities including beach gear, board games, coloring books, etc. The upper living area is open and airy, so lots of room for dinners and family gatherings. Our only complaint for the entire stay was that one TV in the lower level didn't have an HDMI hook up (kids rooms so really needed). Local people were very friendly and the beach was amazing! Fishing was great on the beach, bay, and via boat. Owners were friendly and helpful! Don't hesitate to rent this property, you won't be disappointed!
