The good parts first: Sonesta brand hotels are pretty good. Lots of dining & shopping options nearby, many within walking distance. The pool and hot tub are great! Staff is very friendly and helpful. Easy in & out parking. The bad: cleanliness. Our room was not vacuumed, stains on the wall and shower curtain. Tub and shower need a better cleaning. Overall, would stay here again, the cleaning staff just needs to do better.

Upon check-in, we were welcomed into a spacious, clean lobby, and the front desk clerk was friendly and efficient in getting us our keys. However, as soon as we opened the door to our room, we noticed a full trash can. At first, we thought it was just a missed trash bag but upon fully entering, we realized all the trash cans were overflowing with used tampons spilling out and the bed was completely unmade, clearly slept in. It was obvious the room hadn’t been cleaned at all. Thankfully we were reassigned to a different room, which was actually clean and in good shape. But the issues didn’t end there. When we went to leave for dinner, the elevator refused to open on the first floor for about a minute causing a brief moment of panic before pressing the button opened the door manually. Later, when we returned from dinner, both keycards stopped working, so I had to go back to the front desk yet again to get new cards. The clerk blamed cell phones for demagnetizing them. Overall it’s clear the hotel management is overwhelmed and could use some help keeping things in order. Also, the $5 charge for parking in this location is an absolute joke..it’s not a resort!

Convenient location. Clean. Comfortable beds. Unfortunately, the room smelled like a smoking room each time we entered it, but after being in the room for a little while the smell was not noticeable. I suspect it was due to the air conditioner picking up smoke from people who would smoke on the sidewalk below the balcony of the room and then that smoke would inadvertently get blown into the room.
