"We wanted to find an opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle while we were in Mexico so we opted for Kapok based on its reviews. Unfortunately, I walked away ~50 bites. We noticed substantial amount of orange stain on the bottom of the curtain and bed sheet- the part that’s tucked under while the bed is made. I really wish we googled it right then to realize it’s pest stain. We expected some discomfort while being there, but pests weren’t a part of it. Bites on our body kept popping all over...
"Our stay was good, The staff at the hotel are nice, but the hotel is really far from the main road, and not very accessible, the room was nice, with good mattress and bed. "

"Our stay at Azules Nomeolvides was truly a peaceful sanctuary, seamlessly blending comfort with respect for nature. Surrounded by stunning landscapes, we felt completely immersed in tranquility. Sam and Bernie were fantastic hosts, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, along with their two friendly dogs who added to the warmth of the place. The staff was equally kind, and the food—absolutely delicious! Every meal was thoughtfully prepared, highlighting fresh and local ingredients. If you're looking for a place to unwind while being mindful of the environment, this is the perfect retreat."
Luxury Villa with jacuzzi in Bacalar ( 5 min from the lagoon)
5/5 Excellent
Remote but lovely
"If you book here expect correspondence from Atom Heart Bacalar. We did not know this and thought the message in What’s App was phishing so we ignored it. Once we got that straightened out, things were easier. It is very remote, bring everything you need for food and drink with you. Bacalar stores are about 1/2 hour drive. The place is beautiful and you feel like you are in a jungle. The outdoor kitchen has everything you need including an outdoor grill. They provide small pots with charcoal and salts to help keep the mosquitos away at night and it was quite successful. The beach club you have access to is run down so we didn’t stay long enjoying the villa grounds instead. I would definitely return to this place."

"This place was very charming and fully equipped. The host is on their A-game making sure that they have thought of everything. It was very clean and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable and the towels were quite soft. I really appreciated that there were instructions for all of the appliances. We loved lounging on the deck in the hammock or the loungers."
