With its open-air swimming pool and sports fields, Parc de Benicalap is one of Valencia’s most popular and picturesque parks. Find it in the northern Benicalap neighborhood in an area of thick woodland and undulating greenery, providing an idyllic family escape from the hubbub of the nearby city center. Put together a picnic to enjoy with your family in these scenic surroundings.
On a sunny day stroll along paths meandering between the shady trees. To thoroughly enjoy Valencia’s glorious weather, bring your kids to the open-air swimming pool, which is filled with inflatable slides and islands. Race your children and friends down the multi-track slides and make a big splash in the water.
Take your kids to the animal figures, arches and other obstacles in the pool. Let them climb along the rope course over the water and take shelter beneath the umbrella-like mushroom. The little ones will love the playground areas. For older kids and adults you can also bring balls and cones to set up a game on the sports fields.
Attend some of the many activities that take place in the park, including gym workshops and fitness competitions. Sip hot or cold beverages from one of the cafés lining the side of the park.
Enter the park for free. It opens daily from morning to evening. The site has one pool for adults and another for kids. There is a fee to enter the water park section in the center of the park. Kids get discounted admission.
Parc de Benicalap is in the Benicalap district in the northwestern corner of Valencia. Ride the metro to the Empalme station and walk southeast for a few minutes to get here.
