Kekoa Camp Home

Come and enjoy staying in a remodeled Sugarcane Plantation-Style house in the quaint town of Papa’aloa. This is a great (basic accommodation) home base and an opportunity for adventurous travelers. This home is off the beaten path, away from tourist areas, in a local historic camp neighborhood. Situated along the Hamakua Coast, this home is 24 miles north of Hilo and 34 miles south of Waimea. Explore the many natural wonders including waterfalls, lush jungle, botanical gardens and so much more.
This house has been refurnished inside and out. This home has three lovely bedrooms, one bathroom and features peek-a-boo ocean views, queen sized beds in every bedroom, TV, wifi, and two available off-street parking spots in front of the house. Enjoy a coffee or tea on the front lanai while watching the ocean. There are many windows that provide great natural light and ceiling fans in every room create air flow year-round. Ear plugs are provided for your further comfort if the sounds of nature (dogs barking and roosters) and the neighborhood are a little too loud.
This home offers basic accommodations it is not a luxury rental.

Beautiful interior
The house was located in a very local neighborhood, neighbors were parked in our parking spot. The code for the house was not in the email we received, when we called the contact number it was out of service. Self check in process was difficult. The inside of the house was beautiful but there were roaches all over the house dead and alive, as well as cockroach feces. The kitchen sink faucet was not secured/glued down so it moved every time you use it. It was a great location for what we needed for that weekend. Definitely feel like we were overcharged considering all of these issues. Definitely not a place for the faint of heart.

Cute
It was a cute 3 bedroom home . Smaller than I imagined but it was a good size . The artwork was nice . All the little extra stuff made it feel like a home and not hotel . Definitely liked the location . It's not as noisy as mentioned . It's a good short term rental for sure .

Wonderful home
House as described, Dannie is a wonderful host and always reachable. She helped us with everything in our special situation, we will never forget her and Jessica. If you want a home away from the tourists you are right. Awaiting luxury and quietness, go in a hotel. It’s a normal neighborhood with chicken, dogs and everything else. We enjoyed it here, directly on the Hamakua coast line. Thanks for all, Dannie!
