"First time traveling solo, and was very nervous about my first stay in a hostel. This one exceeded my expectations! While it wasn't *beyond* perfect, it was everything that they advertised it to be. Each room has 6 bunk beds and a bathroom area. "The Inn’s staff were helpful, kind, and attentive. The rooms were clean and bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Overall our stay was seamless and we enjoyed the fireplace in our room. There’s plenty of street parking around the Inn in case the parking lot is full. Would definitely recommend!"

"We found The Big Island Rereat to be just as good as the pictures! It was easy to find right off Ali'i drive. Check in and out were both very easy. We stayed in the Ocean View room which was just as advertised. There is no AC which is in the room description so there was no surprise. Ceiling fan and to other larger standing fans kept the air moving through the room. There is a common area which has beach chairs to use and some snorkel gear and boogie boards as well and an outdoor kitchen...

"Overall experience was wonderful. Aston staff was excellent. The only criticism would be the condition of property, overall it is lovely but a few details make it appear to be a work in progress such as the elevator with the construction padding to protect the walls, bathroom door in our room looked to have holes repaired but never sanded or painted after patching. "What An amazing, affordable stay. Clean, ice machines on every floor, give you a reusable water bottle with fresh, cold water dispensers everywhere. 3 hot tub, 2 pools, bar with food. Bikes to use. Close to other amenities. A block from the beach. Room and bathroom very spacious with porch for morning coffee and chill. Mahalo for the stay!! "

"Upon arrival of the property it was OK. I found the underground parking. When checking in the lines to check in were not defined and some people just created one themselves until an employee came and addressed the issue. Getting into the room the bed cover had a black stain on it. Overall it was a nice stay. The firepits outside were a nice touch for socializing. The hotel was close enough to all the restaurants nearby all about 10minutes or less walking distance. Homeless people are everywhere so just be careful about them. We had one follow us and talking to us up to the middle of the street before the hotel and they retreated back to their place (in front of 7-eleven)"
