"My three adult children, spouses, and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at this house. It was exactly as described: isolated, welcoming, relaxing. The large lanai was ideal for sipping morning coffee while watching the ocean. We enjoyed meals and playing cards at the large dining table. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was spacious, and everything was very clean. Bring earplugs as the roosters and cows are noisy before 5 AM. There is no ceiling fan in Bedroom #4. "

"Lovely cottage separate from the owners house but on the same lot. Great views of the ocean and sunrise. Well equipped kitchenette for self-catering as there are not many restaurants near by, however there is a grocery store in the next town over. Nice to hear the frogs at night, was very soothlng. Morning will bring sounds of cockerels so if you're a light sleeper bring earplugs. There is a fairly soft double mattress and a say bed, making this a perfect getaway for a couple. "

"We arrive around 9:30pm, everywhere pitch black, but the house felt warm and welcoming, right away. After the sunrise we definitely appreciated the views of the house, the grounds and generosity of the owners, regarding the fruits of their orchard, all were great. The outdoor hot tub, and the private sauna were also, delightful and very soothing. The local scene in Honoka'a is limited in terms of things to do, but all around nature is the star. I played/walked the 9hole course in town, and the hilly course took the wind out of me a couple of times. Overall, a great experience, and when we come back we will stay with Marcel and Connie, and Shigecko and Marcus! (apologies if I misspelled Shigecko's name)"

"Really unique secluded log cabin in the rainforest. We enjoyed a sunrise walk out to Waipi'o overlook and walking around the gulch trails on property. The Owl theme and art was incredible. Frogs are loud but the host leaves ear plugs which is really thoughtful. Totally recommend starting here. Mahalo!"

"Our stay was absolutely perfect. Noelani thought of everything and was always available. The home had everything we needed. The view is incredible. The yard, the pool, slide, hot tub… We rode horses for a couple of days at Kahua Ranch, traveled mauka to makai on UTVs, and chilled at the house the rest of the time. We loved the birds, the frogs, and the mongoose. It was an excellent visit and we will definitely be booking Waipio Heaven again. "

"Rachel’s quaint on-site guest house is a peaceful retreat on the Hamakua Coast, magnificent lanai and ocean view. The vintage house has had some updates and is fairly comfortable and reasonably stocked, wry clean. Rachel was a delight to meet, and very quietly respectful of our property. It is about 5-10 min drive outside of Honoka’a, which is a cute town (although no dinner restaurants!).Rachel’s pool looked very nice, hot tub is not working but we were out exploring most of our days. 15 min drive to Waimea,a beautiful drive where you can find about anything. The night sky view from the guest house was amazing; bring a star chart or app to enhance your viewing! Our only suggestion would be to have a bit more information about the house and maybe the local area provided, but we found our way around just fine. This is a beautiful location on a hillside looking out on the ocean, and a good waypoint for seeing Waimea, Kovals and even Hilo-town and surrounding areas. "
