Summer and Winter Get Away (Bain Trail)

This cozy cabin offers all the comfort of home with the relaxation of the cool weather found in northern Arizona. This three bedroom cabin has all the amenities; fully equipped kitchen, Satellite TV, Wireless Internet, all linens, fireplace, central air conditioning and heat, gas barbecue, washer/dryer, two full bathrooms.

The Roost II offers two porches and lots of privacy. Three bedrooms, two with queen size beds and the other with a double bed. The sectional couch will accommodate one to two persons as an alternate sleeping area. This residential area is quiet as it is primarily second home owners that are there to enjoy peace and quiet along with the peaceful mountain nights. Pets are also welcome!

Holiday Getaway
By far the best stay in a cabin… the cabin was cozy, very well stocked with all kitchen stuff for us to cook our meals… and comfy beds… close to lots of lakes and nature. Would definitely stay here again! The host even sent a lovely check in message.

Fantastic!

Cabin was convenient for us location wise. Had all we needed plus for our stay Only have two comments wish would of been cared about more Dog smell: Don’t use perfume smelling plug ins. Use deodorizer kind Dust: comforters not used; check beds not used by guest prior. My sister used a bed that so much dust and dog hair came off it Just get with whoever you use for cleaning and add to list to help your guest in the future. And for our return Thank again

Unfortunately, the AC was not working.
One note said the property did not have AC and another said to turn it off when we left. Consequently, the first day snd night we assumed the cabin was not air conditioned. The second day we texted the owner and affirmed it should be cooling. The owner came snd tried to fix it to no avail. As the temperature became very uncomfortable and it was already late in the day, we advised owner we would make do with the night but would leave in the morning. Vicki agreed to refund the 3rd night and compensate the other two nights. We appreciate the refund but do feel that 10% deduction was inadequate for the miserable time we had trying to figure out what was going on and the resulting heat of the entire time. The cabin is lovely and the area is fun. We will possibly try again next year

We enjoyed our stay, but were very disappointed that the fireplace in the bedroom was not working and were not notified about it. Dish TV was also not working in the bedroom. I called both numbers available (no answer) and left a message on one to help walk me through troubleshooting the problem and nobody called me back. I never heard from anyone! I even sent a follow-up email when I got home and there was no reply to that either! Very disappointed in the owner communication and will not rent a property manager by Vicki and Val again.

Christmas week 2022
The property is a beautiful cabin located in a nice subdivision, however the home lacked in cleanliness and upkeep of bedding, sheets, towels, kitchen towels, (very old, thin and dirty from stains washing doesn't take out.) stove top very dirty, dog urine on carpet. We had to buy paper goods, kitchen staples, etc. If the owner took the time to clean out the pantry and kitchen drawers to see what works would be nice. (2 can openers -neither worked) and lots of old items that were empty, expired or just plain gross. The "Guest Book" was full and no room for any more comments. The desk could have had paper ad writing utensils too. I rated it a 4 but probably 3.5 is better. The cabin could get to a 5 rating if the owner took care of the items I mentioned and maybe get more money for the stay. We would stay again if there was an overall improvement of the items listed, if not we will find a VRBO more suitable to our needs without having to buy or take our own items. Great, but I think I might have messed up
I have never booked a trip using VRBO as my wife handles these things. That said, it work out pretty good once I realized that I was logging onto the VRBO site incorrectly. That is why I couldn't see the owners or VRBO emails. Evidently, picking up the phone is no longer an option these days, either way, we got the code to the house, it was clean, and they had access to the NFL channel. A big hit with Elk hunters. No, we didn't bring anything from the field home, but it was so nice to come home to a warm home, hot water, and a very comfortable bed. Would I stay again? Yes, everything was set up perfectly. Right down to extra spices, coffee, and coffee filters. My only small complaint: They requested I drop off the garbage at the dump (which we did), but when you are paying $150 cleaning fee after we washed most the linens (Yes, elk hunters have been trained), I don't think it's fair to ask us to take the garbage to the dump. FYI: We didn't have to wash the sheets, but we had extra laundry soap so we did.

Vacation cut short
We enjoyed the few days we spent here, but had to leave early when heat went out and weather turned cold. Owner was very responsive in trying to get the heat going again, but the necessary parts weren’t available right away. Fireplace didn’t draw well in windy weather, so we were cold. House was cozy and comfortable at first. Nicely decorated and well supplied kitchen plus plenty of towels and bedding. Needed some lightbulbs replaced, but otherwise in good shape. Location was great with hiking, groceries and restaurants nearby. House backs onto an open area and felt private and quiet despite having close neighbors. We hope to come back and stay longer next time.
