Best Kept Secret
If you love an authentic medieval B&B,this is the place to be! Lying in bed we looked up at the original 500 year old ceiling and the lounge room had remnants of fresco still on on the walls. Our breakfast was beyond expectations. It was laid out beautifully and we couldn’t eat it all. Our hosts were so obliging too Orvieto was the best hidden secret in Italy if you are looking for a non commercial medieval town to stay in. We wish we had stayed more nights. Will definitely come back here all the way from Australia. We just loved B&B Sant’Andrea

OK, but could be better
Although the BnB is conveniently located, the location was not clear. In spite of making an inquiry via email in advance, we didn't get clear directions to the location from the bus stop. When we found the place, it was unattended, with a phone number posted. We don't travel with a mobile phone! Finally, the barista at the Blue Bar kindly contacted the owner/attendant. She was very nice, picked us up, walked with us to the bnb and showed us the room. The old-fashioned keys didn't work at first, but she straightened that out (after 15 minutes of trying), showed us how breakfast worked, then disappeared. We never saw her again. The breakfast consisted of pre-packaged pastry and coffee in thermos. Orvieto, on the other hand, is great!

Great B&B in Orvieto
The B&B is in a charming old Italian apartment. Fairly quiet and ideally located for anything one would want to do in Orvieto. Good breakfast. The host was extremely helpful.

Charming rustic B&B in Orvieto
It's a little hard to find but it is well worth the effort. If you ever wondered what living in a flat in Orvieto would be like, this answers the question. The room was clean and comfortable, The location being close to shopping and restaurants is great. The only problem is there is no parking nearby. You must park in the lot down below town and take the lift up. No problem since Orvieto is a walking town. The lady who owns it is such a sweetheart and even though she spoke no English, we sorted things out fine.

Wonderful stay-true Italian home and neighborhood
The owner and host of Sant'Andrea, Arema, genuinely loves sharing his home and his city. Add to that, the location, the bed quality, the great breakfast, the shared living and dining area, and you have a recipe for a delightful visit. The B&B is in a flat in a 16th century building. There is no elevator, but Aremus helped lug our suitcases up the one flight. The living and dining area have some frescoes which the owner managed to save, and which contribute to an authentic feel. There are a total of 3 bedrooms with ensuite baths, one of which is the host’s although is out and about most of the time. Of the 2 available bedrooms, we had the smaller one, but it was more than adequate. Both rooms have windows looking out onto the neighborhood. Bathrooms generally run on the small side in Italy, also, but at least we had a decent size shower in ours. Plenty of hot water and good pressure. There is a free computer and Wi-Fi for guest’s use. Breakfast was more than the usual fare—we had fruit, meat, cheese, and yogurt offered in addition to the breads and cornetti (Italian-style croissant, but so much better!). After we left Orvietto, we stayed in a 4-star hotel, but we preferred Sant’Andrea! Will definitely stay there next time we’re in Orvietto.

Amazing host in unique place
Orvieto is a rare place in all of Italy. Our host Arano was warm, gracious and easily made his home our home for our stay. He went out of his way to accommodate every need. Our second story room in a quaint neighborhood was an antique in itself with a wood ceiling and frescos from the 15th century. Our only regret was not having more time to absorb this remarkable town.

Excellent in every way
This intimate B&B in the hill top town of Orvieto is fantastic! It only has two rooms and as a result the service you receive is wonderful. The gentleman running it is incredibly kind and welcoming, and really made our stay. The diligently and freshly made breakfast was a real highlight, as well as the beautiful apartment itself. An excellent deal and wonderful place to enjoy Orvieto.
