There were a few issues with cleanliness, but the owner was great to work with. Having said that the house is old and the floor upstairs is very slanted. Definitely not what we were expecting for the cost to rent.

The visit was perfect. The property was well cared for, clean and comfortable. It was winter and there was a lot of snow but the house was warm! The owner was easy to work with and had a plow truck come out to clean up the drive-way. We will stay again, in fact, already have our reservations.

Decent stay. Could have been better
Pros: Nice house with tons of potential. Quiet neighborhood close to town. A good home base for our day trips throughout the western UP. Cons: The house really needs a deep cleaning. Dust bunnies and hair everywhere. The 2 main bedrooms need new mattresses. We did not use the twin beds. Would recommend to others if these items are remedied.

Really enjoyed our stay in this quaint older home. Only a couple of minute walk to the beach and close to everything in the cute village of Ontonagon. House had all of the amenities we needed and was pet friendly as well. Highly recommend.

Exceptional stay!
Super cute and clean, and very well maintained. The house was stocked w everything we could need and more, w tons of little extras! The beach was so close, and town was very cozy and quaint. We enjoyed a meal at a local restaurant, and it reminded me of the old days, lots of food for a small price. Very friendly neighbors, and I cannot stress the beauty of lake superior, or the magnificent sunsets we enjoyed! Thank you so much, and we will be back again next year!

Exceeded expectations
After 3 nights in a wonderful rental in Grand Marais we shifted to Ontonagon for 3 nights. First impression as we pulled up was so so as you are in a residential neighborhood. The house was awesome with alot of personality. The high ceilings and large rooms made for alot of space for the four of us. We frequented a few stores and restaraunts in town and were impressed by the friendliness if everyone. Be aware the restrooms are upstairs and in the basement. No issue for us. House was well stocked with everything we needed and more. Priced less than most average hotels so the price was quite unbelievable. Extra points for great commun8cations from the realator. We would come back if we head back up to the region.

This was a great location for us to be able to take day trips, and being only 2 blocks from the beach was perfect! There are a few things they could add, such as dressers, and bedside tables that aren’t crates.

What a nice surprise - definitely beat expectations.
Our first trip to the U.P. and we picked Ontonagon as our base camp. This house was great. Very clean - great kitchen - comfortable bedrooms - great dining room table and living room. Best part is being just 2 blocks from a great beach. Close to Porcupine mountains, waterfalls. Houghton is a great day trip too. We weren't sure what to expect, but it was a real nice surprise to have such a comfortable place in this location. About a mile to the grocery store. Some restaurants in Ononagon, but we didn't go out to eat while we were there, but there looked like some nice options there.

Convenient location, nice house, house still needs some work and more furnishings/kitchenware.
This newly remodeled home is in a residential section of Ontonagon that has the potential to be a reasonably priced 5 star property. It is close to many points of interest and attractions. We used it as our base for a long weekend trip to see the fall colors and do some hiking and trail riding. The house is advertised to sleep 8, yet there are not enough dishes and glassware for 8 people. Also, the dining table only has 6 chairs, and there were not any other chairs that could be pulled-up to the table if necessary. The bedrooms need bedside tables or something similar to put belongings on. There are a few other kinks that need to be worked-out. For example, the dishwasher door is blocked closed by the oven door and a piece of door molding fell off while we there.

Great location.
Mattresses were okay. They could use some protective Mattress pads over them to keep them clean. It would have been nice to have a couple of dressers to store clothes. Lots of closet space though. This location was close to trails and gas station. Overall was pretty clean amd we would probably rent again.

Great Home
Had a great time. Great convenient location in town and close to the Porkies Ski Area. Restaurants were 2 blocks away and the Porkies were about 15-20 minutes. Internet was nice and fast. It made for some nice online gaming sessions (PC) for the kids after a long day snowboarding. Everyone had their own room and privacy when they needed it. The ROKU streaming service you have was a very nice touch. I binged old Dr WHO episodes my entire stay. Still one of my faves. Definately looking this place up again next time I'm in town.

Does the job
This rental will do the job but does have it's drawbacks. If we would have utilized the firepit, that is a nice amenity. It is definitely an older home that could use some additional TLC, but most homes in the area are. This rental is very bare bones. Nightstands and lamps in the bed rooms for starters would be nice. Most of the rental was pretty clean, but some areas, like the fridge, were not. There were still clothes in the washer and dryer. You can't really use the dishwasher, as the door does not open fully. I will say the location in approximation to where we hiked was nice. Beds were comfortable.
