"I really loved the staff and I did enjoy the resort but there are a few things that need attention. I like that you can go to the other Rio resort as well. I will say the buffet was great for breakfast and lunch but at dinner time it was not so great. The seating was a little unorganized at the buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some people would just be told to sit anywhere and there would be someone sitting there already so it caused some confusion and frustration with some guests. The A La Carte restaurants were not explained properly at the front desk. We were told to go at 530pm to make the line and then we would receive a beeper to come back when a table was ready but that was not the case at all. We needed to go back once they opened and see if they had any tables for the night. The pool bar staff (Calero, Christopher and Richard) were amazing and the drinks were always on point. Pool entertainment was good. Naye always made her way around talking to everyone and I loved that she was so personable. Night shows were pretty good. The room was cleaned everyday but our TV did not work. I called a few times and went to the front desk several times and no one ever came to fix it. The beach was a black sand beach and wasn’t too pretty. The amount of solicitors on the beach was insane! We walked down there once in our 6 day stay and that was enough. I would definitely go back and give it another try. "

"Came down to visit a couple of friends. Great location, right on the beach. Rented golf cart to get back and forth around area. Saw monkeys off deck 3 of the mornings. "

"My wife and I couldn’t have been happier with our stay here. The hosts are kind and friendly and made several excellent recommendations for things to do in Ocotal and even helped us map out a route to our next destination. The apartment and property were clean and comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to make some meals. We spent our evenings in the dipping pool. The beach is about 50 feet from the entrance to the apartment. The bay is beautiful and we saw dolphins near the shore on consecutive mornings. Will definitely stay here again!"

"Place is as advertised. About a football field’s distance from a quiet beach (Playa Ocotal) with wonderful, warm water and lovely views. Villa is as described. All amenities necessary were provided, including plenty of towels, beach chairs, and plenty of kitchenware to cook just about anything. The pool at the villa was quiet and the other individuals that were onsite were lovely people, so there was no reason to leave the gates to go to the other pools. We did not venture to the club because we had full schedules already planned. Truly, you could knit pick any place you stay, and find something not to your standards. But in my opinion, if you have an issue with this place it is either a one off, unfortunate circumstance, or its the renter Bernard was communicative and pleasant from start to finish, as was Vanessa. We did not require their services, but they made themselves known as available. It was an amazing week, and would absolutely stay at Bernard’s villa again. Coco was about seven minutes away and had plenty of restaurants. Several grocery stores. Locals are absolutely lovely"
