"Easily the worst overnight stay I have encountered anywhere in my travels. We had no working water heater the first 24 hours so none of us could shower. The floors were sticky. We killed two sizeable spiders in the unit. The whole place smelled like chemicals but I couldn’t quite place what they were. "This little apartment was wonderful - cozy, clean and well-appointed with everything you could want or need and spacious enough to really spread out. By American standards the bathrooms are great and there was a king-sized bed! We really appreciated being able to do some laundry. "We originally booked a 1 bedroom but the night before we got there we were told that wasn’t available and we were being given a different unit. I felt uncomfortable with that at such late notice but the house we were given was much larger and grander. The location was perfect for our stay and travels. The owner was kind and helpful. They have a family farm and were working a lot so we appreciated his time. The views are pretty and it was very peaceful."

"We chose this cottage in the country to experience the local towns, people, the food, & history. We rented a car & used the cottage as base. Each day we drove to a different castle or locale.Even the Cliffs of Moher was a day trip. Roscrea village was close for groceries. Denise & Joe were very friendly, helpful, kind, & wonderful hosts. Loved all the decor, books, location & Denise’s Irish soda bread was YUMMY! Highly recommend. Debbi & Perry"

"The property was better than described, being large, comfortable and with wonderful views. The house was very clean and well stocked with everything you could need. Jeanette and Steve, the hosts, are delightful, being very welcoming and helpful. The area is new to us and we were surprised how close everything was and how much we enjoyed it. "The Meadow View Farmhouse was a dream come true. Eamonn was an awesome host. He met us at the house with a wealth of information about the area and even booked us a visit to a local castle viewing. The attention to detail that he has put into refurbishing this old farmhouse is phenomenal. The views surrounding the house were spectacular! We even got to experience a local farmer moving his cattle from one pasture to another on the road in front of the house. A true Irish gem and we will...

"We really enjoyed this cottage. It was exactly as listed. So cozy and felt like home. Our host was lively and we loved the town. We enjoyed several meals at Giltrap Pub. Mattresses are still the kind with springs which was not a great fit for our backs but the rooms and duvet covers were just great!! Nice shower and bathroom. Overall, I’d recommend this cottage to all. We were able to make several day trips East and South. Great location if your renting a car. Thanks a million."

"This was a very lovely house, however there was an oil leak with a VERY STRONG ODOR !! This odor gave me a headache. The owner was aware of this problem because her son came over shortly after we arrived, said that they would get someone out to repair it but after 4 nights it was not repaired.. The electric tea kettle had so much red liquid sediment in it I was afraid to use it .. The liquid hand soap dispenser was almost empty in the bathroom. No extra toilet paper was provided."

"The cottage was very comfortable. It had everything we needed to make ourselves at home. The location was central to all the places we visited. We enjoyed our daily drives through the countryside and having a relaxing place to stay when we returned each evening. On our final day, we enjoyed touring the local area and found that there was plenty to do in or near Mountshannon. It was nice taking a break from driving. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately we had to leave a day early...

"We had an excellent stay and really enjoyed interacting with Margaret. She was very polite and attentive. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway, I highly recommend this location. Its just a quick drive to the local shops, there is an amazing park with a castle in Portumna, and we were able to visit neighboring towns with ease. I was very impressed with the information Margaret provided. She was kind enough to print out a packet that contains everything you need to know during your stay....
