Homestead Cabin at Willow Springs near Yuba River
Our goal is to offer guests a unique and memorable experience. Willow Springs Farm/Retreat center is 4 acres that has been a community and artist hub through the years. As a guest at The Homestead Cabin, you will have the freedom to explore the property and discover it’s hidden jewels - the hand-built Cobb wall, herb garden and goldfish pond; check out the 1-acre organic farm or join our weekly campfire at The Pirate Ship (during cooler weather). Chat with the "pirate chicks" aka chickens under the huge walnut tree. Depending on our schedule, you may be able to join a yoga, chi gong or meditation class at The Heart Center Yoga Studio. Give some love to the cats on gopher/mice patrol. We invite you to put away your cell phone and enjoy the abundance of fruit trees, wildlife and birds you will find on the property and reconnect with nature.
Easy parking for one vehicle at the cabin. Parking for 2nd vehicles, boats and trailers available close by on the property.
We live on the property so we are able to respond quickly to your needs. We have a combination lockbox at the front door to access a key to the cabin.
Located only 20 minutes from Nevada City and just off scenic State Highway 49, The Homestead Cabin is easy to find. The historic town of North San Juan is only a 1/2 mile down the road, where you can enjoy a lunch at the local cafe or pizza place. Located only ten minutes past the South Yuba River State Park, and 7 minutes before Oregon Creek State Park, you are right in the middle of great hiking and swimming holes. Wander across School Street to explore the historic and peaceful North San Juan cemetery with many gravestones from the 1800's amid towering oaks.
GPS works well to get you here, but if you don't want the scenic windy routes don't take the side roads the GPS likes to provide. And if you are pulling a trailer definitely don't take these side routes! Instead, stay on highway 20/49 until you reach 49 North (towards Downieville) and take that. You'll probably lose cell service soon, but it will come back when you arrive at the cabin. Follow highway 49 north for 13 miles, and when you see the North San Juan population sign, School Street is the first street on the right.
