"The Thomas Guard house is a gem in Hilo. The location is perfect - not in the middle of the city but close enough to walk to local restaurants. The beautiful grounds, the waterfall, the river running through the backyard, they all added to the charm. The house is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. Charlotte has thought of all the details to make this a wonderful place to stay. It was a perfect way to unwind from an otherwise busy life. "

"The view is amazing! Very clean and bright. Beds were comfortable. One small accent chair would provide comfortable seating for a fourth person in the living area. Otherwise someone sits on a kitchen chair. The kitchen is set up nicely. A pocket door, swinging doors, etc. would give privacy to the one bathroom. We had a great stay. Mahalo "

"Very large and very very well equipped. The location is stunning, private and yet close enough to Hilo to be convenient. I have only two small negatives. Despite otherwise being the most well equipped house (in terms of useful things, from towels, to kitchen gear, BQ, etc.) I've ever stayed in, they don't have non-slip mats in the showers and bath. I hope they rectify this in the future.And perhaps important to some people, like just about every home in Hilo, there is a faint smell of mold. ...

"We stayed here because it is close to family and are so glad we did! Very well equipped and comfortable home in a quiet setting. The kitchen is one of the best equipped ones we’ve ever had. Not only are the cooking pots and pans of high quality, but there were lots of condiments and ingredients available too. The furniture is of a nice quality and the house was impeccably clean. "

"We were two couples visiting the Big Island for 10 days: 4 nights at Hulili Farms, 6 nights at Mauna Lani condos. "We loved loved this property. It was clean, loved the fact they offered house slippers as well as outside slippers. We spent more time out on our full beautiful balcony more than in room. Beautiful landscaping. You can tell they take pride in the rental home. It’s was quiet and laid back for my husband and I. Maid service was awesome. We stayed on that side of island cuz it was my local, and just drove to tourist areas when we wanted to do stuff. Zoo was free and gorgeous, rainbow falls was free and beautiful. Checked out many beaches. Overall everything was wonderful. Even tried to eat mostly authentic local foods. Island breeze luau was a rip off don’t recommend. But it’s a must stay. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience. Mr.& Ms. Hunt"
