The property itself was good. The common areas are tired and the carpet on the 3rd floor is dirty. It needs to be updated. The actual rooms are clean and a decent size for New York. I didn't find the staff overly friendly. We arrived early for our reservation and asked if there were any rooms available. There were not. We were told to come back for 1:00 p.m. which we did however rooms were still not available but told to either stay around the hotel and if we did go out they would text us. We decided to stay in hopes that we would get a room before 3:00 p.m. After waiting over an hour I finally went to the desk and asked if a room is available since I did not hear from the staff and the person at the front indicated a room was ready....I wasn't sure why I wasn't called as indicated. I would not recommend this location for people with families. The hotel faces the back of a bigger hotel. The view is dumpsters and garbage. The hotel is also close to a susbstance abuse recovery clinic as important as they may be needed, it's good to know the site is very close to the hotel. As for location, it's great. Close to the subway, police station, Times Square, Empire State Building and other mid town attractions

The staff was friendly and helpful. They recommended places to eat and answered my questions. The BEST part of my stay was the shuttle service that took me back to the airport. It wasn't a van like I expected. It was an all black Navigator. The driver's name was Gabriel. He was VERY PROFESSIONAL AND KIND. I felt presidential on my way to the airport.

It was a pretty good hotel but the only complaint I have is that our room had a door way entry with the next door neighbors inside the room. Due to this you were able to hear a lot of what your next door neighbors were doing.

Regarding the room: bed/pillows were comfortable (soft top but with good support); AC worked and wasn't too loud to run through the night; bathroom was very clean. However, two light switches in room did not work and no luggage rack provided. Was unable to enjoy breakfast, as the only option is ordering from a menu, there was no grab and go we were directed to when told the wait would be over 30 mins. Catching the train was very manageable- just a 5 minute walk to Penn Station with roller bags. Front desk staff were helpful and kind both on the phone and at check in.
