My family had a great time at the Beech Hut! The kitchen is well stocked with everything you could need, the dining room can hold 10 people with available folding chairs, and the deck outside has some great new features not on the listing. The living room was comfy and spacious, and almost all of the beds incredibly comfortable! The downstairs family room was perfect for our needs, as was the bunk room and all three bathrooms. Plenty of linens and supplies on site for a great stay. The beach passes save you a ton of money, and the street it is on is very quiet!
There were a few items that just need attention by the property owner, which may have already been addressed as I’m writing this. The first is that the whole house A/C had a bad thermostat that turned off after 7pm. There were two window units to support the old whole house A/C unit, but that only works if you leave the bedroom doors open at night (not ideal with a family of 10). In addition there are no A/C vents in the downstairs large bedroom, the only way to get A/C is to leave the door open to the family room. Second, the dryer in the basement does not vent correctly, which results in so much steam in that bathroom that the ceiling was raining. There are no vents in the bathrooms, so after showers and such they were very humid for a long time.
This property is a great value for a family of up to 10, and it clearly being updated over time by the owner, just needs that final little push!
