"The owners do not seem to use the VRBO app messages because we never got any response from them or any check/in instructions. Tried messaging multiple times. Finally got through via phone call but with limited English getting instructions for accessing the rental was challenging. If we had gotten instructions via messages we could have translated. Once inside the rental was very spacious. And the kitchen was well equipped. The bathroom was good and the beds were comfortable. The low curlings...

Gengenbach is probably the prettiest town we saw in the Black Forest & a fantastic base to explore the region. We stayed 11 nights & used the train on the Konus card scheme every day bar 1.....great for taking the stress away & having a German beer or 2! "This is the 3rd time I’ve stayed at the Lamm, the 2 previous times it was as a couple this time I was a solo traveller. I had a single room and was pleasantly surprised (not having stayed in a single room before) the room had a fridge that came in handy, and a view of the valley from the balcony. The balcony had a seat so could chill out on. The restaurant was fully booked but as was a resident they found me a table, the food was lovely. The hotel isn’t actually in Baiersbronn, it’s some 2.5 miles out. As I said this was the 3rd time there and would definitely make it a 4th"
