"The only thing I didn’t like about the resort was getting our room. We paid extra for a beach front room and they gave us a room where we could not even see the beach and the same for the couple we were with. They did give us a room where we could see part of the beach which we were happy with after we complained and the same with the couple that was with us. When you have to complain the first day is no way to start a vacation!"

"Staying here is like staying on a movie set. It's a unique and intimate boutique experience and every single meal at Ivan's restaurant (on site) was amazing. This property has way more personality than the run-of-the-mill all inclusive resort. Just make sure you are ready for something a little more raw and real. And bring ear plugs, since Rick's Cafe is right next door and gets loud at night."

"It is quiet, safe and nicely situated to the beach. The food and restaurant is subpar. From the time the you place your order for food to the time you receive it, it is about an hour. The flavor and presentation of the food is very subpar. For all things considered, Sandy Haven is a great location, reasonably priced and safe. Rooms are clean, hot water for the showers and free towels for the beach. Staff is also very friendly and accommodating."
