"Convenient location with Starbucks a supermarket and many restaurants nearby staff were helpful beds where clean with white bedding in general cleanliness was good bathrooms were new unfortunately showers on upper floors were unusable due to poor water pressure kitchen was not adequate very small with no seating and poor condition Building was generally run down with flaking paint plaster falling off ceiling electrics were scary extension chords bare wires and taped up damaged chords "

"The Generator is fantastic!! I stayed in one of the pods. If you haven't done it, you have to try it! I slept amazingly well and they are so comfy and cozy! The staff is very helpful and easy going. The breakfast is delcious and not too expensive. Save some $$ and pre-buy your breakfast at the front desk. :) Neat history...fun place...good price!!"

"Very good location walkable to train station and canals. We stayed n the lowest floor and all 3 shower stalls did not have hooks to hang our clothes or towel. Since it is an all gender bathroom this may be awkward. "

"This was my first time in a hostel, and I had a lot of reservation about it, but I felt very safe and comfortable there. The price is/was fair and the staff was professional and kind. "Property is well located for sightseeing and on a busy street with a supermarket and plenty of food options. Staff were friendly enough and bag store was there for keeping luggage safe after checkout etc. It is run down though and if you dont like steep stairs then it's not one to visit (though this can be said of most Amsterdam hotels).
