"Incredibly helpful staff. Rooms were spotlessly clean. They are a bit dated but very clean. Walking distance to the lake and a 7-11 right next door. Bus stop about 70 metres from the hotel. "

"It is an old property but it was clean. We just wished they provided us with sleepers as the want us to remove our shoes at the entrance and the carpet has stain that made us uncomfortable walking barefoot. "

"The property itself is amazing. The room is very specious with kitchen and laundry facilities. The private onsen and foot bath on the balcony are bonuses. Very close to train station and not too far from 7/11. However, the check in process was a nightmare. We were meant receive the reservation number and the pin to get into the building, but that never happened. We were stranded outside in the cold weather for at least half an hour. "A true traditional ryokan experience. The feel and service of all the amentities was superb. We were worried about the food as it was very unique. However all of it exceeded expectations. All the food was worth trying and had such an earthy feel to it. The service of the staff members were impeccable. Very kind and helpful. The place is little far to get to. So recommend calling ahead for shuttle service from the ryokan. Highly recommended."

"Staff was super lovely upon check in. Please be advised they may need your booking confirmation number if you booked through Expedia or another third party. We got a room with a Mt.Fuji view and it was absolutely one of my favorite parts of my entire trip to Japan. For this price, I can’t recommend HaoStay enough. It is also short walk from Kawaguchiko station & a short walking distance from some restaurants & a convenience store. 10/10!"
