"La Rustica is a large, quaint. comfortable villa, wirh a large fenced garden and an above ground pool ( not heated). It has many large rooms with antique decoration. Very characterfull.Comfortable beds with A/C in bed rooms. Lovely covered outdoor seating area where we spent most of our time. But the highlight was Maurizio!! What a gentleman. "We travelled to Italy for 2 weeks and visited Venice, Florence, Cortona and Rome. Our most favorite stay was without a doubt was this home in Cortona. It was exactly as described and we loved the location. Only downside is parking. If you have a car, you will be lugging your luggage uphill for a good ways from the parking area. "

"Very thoughtfully restored old Villa just minutes from Cortona . The house and grounds are exactly as pictured. The very private road that leads there is a bit rough and seems very remote at first but after you venture out once you see that every convenience is minuets away and beautiful Cortona as well. A car is a good idea if you plan to go around Tuscany. 2 trains in town go everywhere but it helps to get to train and town with a car. The host is very responsive and hands on."

"This friendly little hotel is one floor of an apartment building. Easy to miss, no big sign out front but go by the address number and find the hotel name on the buzzer.Easy walk to trains and all the shops, restaurants and historic sites. Basic double room with twin beds and clean private bathroom. Continental breakfast has many choices including fresh pastries, yogurt ham and cheese. We had a nice little balcony with a view over city to hills. Affordable, simple B&B run by nice people. "

"Room was cozy, easy access, free parking and very friendly staff. Breakfast was plentiful and coffee was good. We had late night arrival and leafy early. Only thing in negative side was the fetter pillows. First time ever in my hotel night, me being allergic, wish I did have a choice. "

Dreaming of our return

"Our two adult children who were studying abroad met us here with our younger two children. We had two nights in a 12 day stay in Italy. Of all our stops, this was by far our favorite. The house was like a story book. The garden was so lovely, we spent an afternoon eating and sharing a bottle of wine. We were here in November and the weather was very mild compared to Chicago winters. Most of the stores and restaurants were open with far less people. We weren’t really here to see anything, we were only here to be. We rented a car and drove here from Venice. We easily parked in a free lot before we entered the town. The uphill hike was funny and an adventure for us. We did our laundry and I happily hung it from the lines out the window (no dryer). I would stay in this home if you are looking for something relaxing and authentic. It is easily walkable to everything in this enchanting town. We moved on and enjoyed the rest of our trip, but under different circumstances, my wife and I could’ve stayed much longer. There was more than enough room for our entire family. The house was charming and well equipped. "
