"We stay here everytime we come to the Morehead area. The hotel is a little older, but it is always very clean, and the mattresses and pillows are so comfortable. The big draw for us though is the friendliness of the staff! The breakfast is good too! My kids love the pool and there are always adequate pool towels."

"This was our first time staying at Carter Caves and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Every staff member was kind and helpful. Our upper floor room was very quiet and clean. We ate at the lodge restaurant four times and each time the food was delicious. The waitresses were wonderful. These girls were too short-staffed, but they really busted their humps and provided excellent service. Even the hostess had to jump in and help and she was excellent as well. We did have to wait a little bit for food to be prepared, but that didn't bother us. We're retired now! Time doesn't matter! We're supposed to be taking time to slow down and smell the roses at this point! The only things that were negatives was that there is no elevator to the second floor rooms. It's an old lodge and we understand. We're not spring chickens anymore and steps are difficult. The girl at the desk did offer to change our room to the bottom floor, but we chose to keep our assigned room upstairs because it would be more quiet. Also, some of the floors are noisy. My husband walks heavy in the heels and I had to keep reminding him to walk more quietly for the poor people downstairs. The floor in the entry way of our room really vibrated when we walked on it, so I worried about the people underneath us. Also, the wooden walkway outside in front of the rooms was very noisy to walk on. I was worried that it would wake me up if people were walking on it outside while I was sleeping, but this was not an issue. "

"Pretty convenient to everything but still far enough away to feel like you’re getting away. It does sit near the road and some trucks are loud when passing, but not bad. We could have used an AC during the day, but there wasn’t one. I presume they use a window unit once it heats up more. The heater was nice at night. Overall, great price, nice cabin, and very communicative hosts. "

"The cabin is absolutely beautiful. It was clean, cozy, and beautifully appointed. The hosts thought of everything and were very responsive. The kitchen was well equipped and had all that we needed. The hot tub was super nice and relaxing. We loved the game room it would be a perfect place to entertain the kids. The wifi worked perfectly as did the smart TV. We would definitely like to stay again. Thank you for your hospitality. entertain. the kiddos. "

"This place was incredible! Pictures do not do it justice. My husband and I stayed for our anniversary and it was perfect. We love the area, the privacy of the cabin and the amenities were top notch! This is the cleanest cabin we have ever stayed at and we would definitely stay here again.Would love to come back in the Fall!"
