We are NOT your cookie-cutter, prefab house. Our house has deep roots and heart. In fact, we have taken great pains to create a space that is simple, clean, and uncluttered — a space in which to relax while you work on that novel, make gourmet food and enjoy meals with family and friends — and a homebase while you explore the city and all the area has to offer.
We provide comfortable memory foam beds and high-speed Internet to handle all of your online requirements. Our fully-equipped kitchen (with plenty of pots and pans for cooking and baking) is perfect for quick meals or gourmet dinners (a convection oven with four-burner glass stovetop; a drip coffee maker; French press; blender; and toaster oven). Adjacent to the kitchen, in its own dedicated ‘laundry’ niche, is the (high-efficiency) stackable washer/dryer — which makes doing laundry a breeze!
Closets are available for you to manage your wardrobe and stow your luggage throughout your stay. An iron and ironing board are available as well. Washer and dryer are available for your use and located in the basement.
The large living room includes a workspace with a desk, desk chair and lamp. We provide free Internet. This space also includes a vintage Pilates reformer for workouts.
In summer, enjoy fresh herbs and vegetables direct from the garden! A fully-equipped kitchen awaits — whether it’s to prepare lunch for an outing or a gourmet meal for family and friends, Vermont is all about ‘farm to table’ freshness — and Montpelier is a ‘foodie’ paradise!

The house sits atop a forested hill on a spacious corner lot surrounded by mature ash, oak, birch and maple trees in an accessible and pedestrian-friendly neighborhood — adjacent to historic Hubbard Park, downtown Montpelier and just a short commute to the Amtrak station. So, while we’re relatively close to downtown (less than a mile to the city center), we’re also near heavily-forested Hubbard Park — so it is not at all uncommon to see a variety of wildlife (deer, chipmunk, crows, skunk, fox, the occasional black bear and woodchuck). In fact, a family of woodchucks live in a den on the west side of the property. When startled, they emit a shrill, high-pitched whistle sound. And while harmless, they can be a nuisance when they help themselves to our garden! We do not allow guests to receive mail at the house address. We recommend guests get a post box at the USPS, the UPS Store or Fedex Store.
