Villa Maria: A True Jamaican Experience (one of few Beach front villas in Mobay).

Please note:

The US has issued a travel advisory for high-risk areas in Jamaica.

We are uniquely located on the back oceanside of the airport in close proximity to Sandals Montego Bay.
Our community is well patroled by police. It is considered to be one of the safer neighborhoods in Jamaica due to the fact that it is a one-way in and one- way out community.

We also have a private monitored security service with armed response. However, I can assure you it is not needed.

Our job is to keep you safe and make sure you have a great, memorable Jamaican vacation.

The community:
Villa Maria is nestled in a fishing, fairly modest community full of kind, wonderful people. When described as "authentic," it is true. Know that you WILL see evidence of this as you approach as well as the energy of the village. Please don't be taken aback. Though not surrounded by other mansions or a fancy development, it is safe, charming, and so very full of love in all details. Maria Villa is Montego Bay community tourism destination - equipped with a community soccer. For the avid fishermen, this is the perfect spot for sport fishing and other Watersport activities. Here you can chill on island time, watching the sunset and the kids play, while just feel irie!!!

"Maria Villa" is an independent seaside villa, nestled in the quaint seaside fishing village of Whitehouse, in the heart of Montego Bay, Jamaica - just 7 minutes from the Islands biggest airport, 10 minutes from the Montego Bay Convention Center (the Caribbean's biggest convention center), and the world renowned White Witch Golf Courses, and a stones throw from Sandals

Public beach and restaurants are just a pleasant walk away through a tranquil seaside village scenery.

Interior Description
"Maria Villa" is a 4 bedroom house, with spacious and bright rooms, elegant and tasteful furnishings.
On the ground floor: entrance to the elegant living room with large sofa with a huge flat screen TV, with streaming service; dining room; small service toilet; kitchen with oven, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator with freezer.

The first floor bedroom is equipped with 2 extra long twin beds that can be converted to a king. Bathroom with shower and rails for guests that need extra assistance and a closet.

On the second floor with access also to the roof of the building: there are 2 sprawling balconies - with one at the front, offering a splendid mountain and air port view, and the other to the rear of the property, offering great ocean views, where you will enjoy the views of arriving cruise ships. There are 3 bright, perfectly appointed bedrooms, each with its own bathroom with shower / toilet and air conditioning. Both bedrooms offer serenity, peace, and tranquility, and the natural sound of sea waves is so priceless. It will always put you to sleep.

Third Time's A Charm
On our third visit to Villa Maria we took our adult kids and our grandkids ages 11 and 7. We all had a ball. We were met at the airport by Rowan who is like family now. The staff is amazing, property clean and safe and the ocean as blue as I remember. They kids didn't want to leave and we're asking when we could come back.

Wonderful family vacation!
The property is beautiful, very clean and the staff are awesome! We wanted to brin Chevy, Shelly and Chef home with us! One love! My granddaughter wanted to stay forever. She made sand castles on the beach and lived in the pool. Marco kept the grounds very clean and the pool. The owner was so easy to communicate with and always responded to ALL my questions promptly. We would definitely stay again and recommend to others. Thank you all for everything ♥️

A weekend in paradise.
Rowan and the entire staff at Villa Maria made our weekend in Jamaica one of the most memorable and enjoyable experiences ever. Keep a close eye on " Schevy" we may want to steal her . Villa Maria is absolutely beautiful! My family had an awesome experience. The house staff was very friendly and welcoming. Reba took care of everything we needed. Chef FishBone was amazinggggg!! The house keepers made sure the house was clean and beautiful. Herbs took care of the pool. We enjoyed 24hr access to the pool & the beach. We had a true Jamaican experience. I would definitely recommend staying at Villa Maria.

Gratitude Trip
This was our second trip to Villa Maria. It has been a rough year for our families so we invited our supportive Village on a mini vacation to rest and relax at Villa Maria. Villa Maria has made several upgrades since our last trip. They are listening to guests comments and suggestions. Book Chef Fishbones. He's more than amazing. Our friends were eating food they don't normally eat because it was so appetizing. Massages on the beach were amazing and our Butler made the most amazing poolside drinks. We will be back again!!!

Home away from home
This house is amazing and I will book again. Everything showed is as pictured. The service and food was amazing. Shelly was amazing and very kind and sweet. Chef bonefish has all of us spoiled with such great authentic Jamaica food The only thing we did not like was the fact that we felt that we didn't have complete privacy meaning that the owner/workers was there everyday most of the day until late afternoon. My opinion when you rent a house you see the owner/workers when you check in and maybe when you check out, unless you call because you have an issue. The property is treated more like an resort so you will see someone everyday.other than that we enjoyed our stay!

Very Secure & Safe Beachside Villa, near Airport
This property is very nice, staff is very attentive. If I had to complain it would be that this property deserves an upgrade on outdoor furnishings. The outdated furniture does nothing for this property. The AMBIANCE is simply amazing. You have everything you need at this house. The views of the ocean is very serene and relaxing and I like how its next to fisherman. Chef Fishbone is very good but I wish he would resolve to soul food of Jamaica in hindsight he has to appeal to the others that frequent more often than we do. If you give him a time, that is what time the food will be ready, no questions asked.

Great property, staff, and food!
This villa is everything you could want in a vacation property. I had my bachelorette here for 3 nights/4 days. The house is better in person than pictures. It has spacious bedrooms, large bathrooms, and nice sized living spaces. We felt very safe; the bedroom doors are programmed with the guests fingerprints, main doors are practically bolted and there is video security as well. The best part about this trip was the pool, beach, and staff. The property is on the beach which made for a really nice dinner setting. The staff was awesome. Each of them courteous, patient, and very welcoming from the time we walked into the home. BOOK CHEF FISHBONES! We had him for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every night. Each meal was on point and delicious. Don’t hesitate! Book your stay here!

10 yr anniversary getaway w/ family
Have you ever been catfished by the pictures you see of a property? And when you get there it's not what you thought? That's definitely not the case here. Everything from the layout, the cleanliness, attention to detail, the staff, and of course the legendary Chef Fishbones was as advertised! The house is extremely spacious and accommodating. We didn't expect to have daily staff who were attentive to anything we needed. Safety was truly a priority and we had zero concerns or issues! We were so happy one of our family members is already looking into booking the property again. Thanks for a memorable anniversary! Respect!

We had a great time at villa maria. The property is beautiful and the staff, especially Shevy and chef Eddie, were wonderful. I highly recommend booking Eddie for at least a couple of meals. The only other meal we had that was as good as his was in negril. Some things did not work in the villa; the air conditioning in one of the bedrooms, the tv outside, and the coffee pot in the kitchen. We were a little disappointed that although it is on the beach the water was too shallow to swim in. We ended up going to Negril to finally enjoy the ocean. The villa is no where near the high end resorts. It’s close to the airport in a run down neighborhood. If that bothers you, I would suggest you book closer to Rose Hall in the high end district.

Amazing Holiday
Myself and 7 friends rented this amazing property to celebrate my 60 th birthday. The rooms are beautiful and everything is very secure and private. We spent most of the time outdoors, the setup is perfect. Plenty of loungers for everyone, the pool to cool off and the ocean breeze also helped. The large outdoor tv was perfect for music and they have a karaoke mic if you want to sing some songs, which we did..lol The staff was super helpful and accommodating. Rowan met us at the airport and took amazing care of us. He would just show up to make sure we were okay. If we went anywhere he would ensure we were looked after. Chevy the butler, what a gem!! She made us blender drinks and ensured we had everything we needed. The staff all pitched in decorated the beach for my Birthday dinner..they also made a fire on the beach it was a perfect birthday.Dwight the yard/pool man moved things around if we needed anything. Shelley and Sue kept our rooms clean The cook mr Fishbones, wow!!all I can say is wow!! He cooked for us several nights and all his meals were amazing. We went out to experience some authentic Jamaican food, but honestly Mr Fishbones food was always better. He was always accommodating to food sensitivity. This is a perfect spot and would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a place that can hold 8 -10 people

Friendcation 2023
We had the absolute best time and it was all because of The Villa Maria staff. They all go above and beyond to foresee and take care of your every need. It started with communication with Wayne- he was very responsive and recommended that we have Chef Fishbones prepare a meal for us on Saturday evening since our flight would not arrive in Jamaica until late in the afternoon. Chef contacted me with the menus to choose from but made it very clear that we could make changes if we so desired. Rowan is the Villa’s manager in Jamaica, he met us at the airport and gave us the grand tour once we arrived at the Villa. He made sure we had all of our questions answered and made us feel very welcome. Hedley was our driver and we took a tour of Montego Bay with him. He’s very knowledgeable and patiently answered all of our questions about his beautiful island home. Chevy is the friend you always had but just met- your butler. She had drinks in your hand before you had a chance to ask for it. She is so very happy to make you happy. Dwight had everything outside just perfect. Our housekeepers were amazing. Back to Chef Fishbones, he was so accommodating from the very star and it just continued. We reserved him every night for dinner and all but one day for breakfast. He is an absolute artist in the kitchen. I promise, you will not find better cuisine anywhere in Jamaica. Every meal was seasoned perfectly and served beautifully. We ate dinner several nights on the beach and it was lovely.

Just book it already!
We travelled to Jamaica with a group of 8 adults for a kid-free week in the sun. Villa Maria proved to be every bit as great as the pictures and reviews claim! We thought we’d just do a couple dinners with Chef Fishbone, but after one dinner with him decided to book him for every night. His food is unreal. Melissa is spectacular and so helpful. Rowan was available anytime we needed anything (and wins the award for having the cutest kid ever). Jermaine made sure the pool and beach were in beautiful condition for us every day. The rest of the staff helped keep the house functioning and working without a hiccup. They are a great team! Couple things we learned: 1. Bring water shoes. There are a ton of cool shells to check out during low tide, but also plenty of sea urchins to step on if you aren’t careful. 2. The little blue shack outside the front steps of Villa Maria is a little shop. They have some good snacks (try a bun with cheese), cold beer, and sunscreen/aloe if needed. 3. Tropical Bliss Beach is just a couple minute walk down the road and has a cute bar, gift shop, and dj. Several catamaran cruises will pick you up right from the dock at that beach (we did the sunset cruise through Island Routes). 4. There is a good blender for your use if you like to enjoy a blended drink by the pool! 5. You’re going to wish you had booked a longer trip. Add an extra day. 😁 We can’t say enough good things. I hope that we are able to make a return trip soon!

We came to Montego Bay for our brother’s Vow Renewal and I didn’t want to stay at the overpriced overrated Resort. I searched out HomeAway and come across quite a few homes that were of interest and I spoke with the owners and managers of these properties, but none of the owners I spoke with had an impact on my decision like Wayne & Tara Williams. From the moment I spoke with the Williams’ I knew that their home was the place for me and my family. Upon arrival Wayne and his staff was able to provide us with a true Jamaican experience. So often we visit places and never get to experience the life of the locals but staying at Villa Maria in Whitehouse Village was an amazing experience of local life that we will never forget and enjoyed every moment of. Villa Maria gives you all the comfort of home with a resort like feel. Villa Maria is immaculate, this home offers 4 beautiful bedrooms all with views of the Village or the spectacular sea. I was there for 8 glorious days and at the end of the day when it was time to leave none of us wanted to go. In fact one of the guest there extended their stay. I was able to give a family gathering for about 20 of my other family members that were staying at the Resorts and once they arrived inside of Villa Maria they all wished that they had booked with us. If you are looking to have a true Jamaica experience and still have the comforts of home and resort feeling then Villa Maria is for you. I will most definitely be back for a stay at Villa Maria, in fact me and my friends are already planning for a gathering here for Mother’s Day 2017. Who would not want to wake to a Seaside Sunrise and go to sleep to a Seaside Sunset in your very own Paradise Island! I am not on any of the social media outlets but if I was I would tell everyone to stay at Villa Maria in Whitehouse Village, Montego Bay Jamaica! This place is ABSOFREAKINLUTELY AWESOME! Beautiful Villa!!! We loved every minute of our stay.
We had such a great time at Villa Maria and will definitely be back. We stayed for 7 nights and celebrated Christmas there with family and friends. The staff was all amazing and the house beautiful. We felt very taken care of by all. Rowan was so responsive, Mel always there to help spoil us, pool boy I think Dominik was such a great guy and hard worker. Mr. Headley took us anywhere we wanted to go and was always on time. Fishbone was absolutely an amazing chef and it was so nice to have gourmet meals right in the house and not have to leave the beautiful environment to have a meal. Most meals were set up on the beach. I think we used him every night but 1 and breakfast daily. Thank you so much for an amazing Holiday for our family! Location of the Villa was great, it sat right on a small beach in the Community of White House. We truly enjoyed our stay at Villa Maria. It was exactly like the pictures. The property was immaculate. The staff was awesome, friendly, welcoming and accommodating. They really thought of everything with this property. Also Chef Fishbones was amazing! All of the food was delicious. The only thing we would say is notify the guests before traveling about the cash needed to enjoy the island. We mostly had credit cards and weren't prepared for this aspect.
