"The home is very secluded and has a magnificent view! The interior is gorgeous and perfect for a couple. The home faces west so the sunsets over the mountains and the James River are spectacular! There isn't a lot nearby in terms of grocery stores or restaurants. You'll have to travel 20 mins or so (as far as we could tell) to get to anything like that so bring your groceries. "This property is absolutely beautiful! Our stay was beyond our expectations! Love the layout of the main floor so the family could be all together. Loved the pavilion. House is in a perfect location to get to downtown and restaurants. Gorgeous views of the river and seeing the trains rolling by was fantastic! Excellent communication with host. If the opportunity arises, will definitely stay there again!"

"We could not have had a more wonderfully refreshing stay in this beautiful spot on the Piney River in the charming Chestnut House. Maria’s thoughtfulness as a host cannot be understated. The home is supplied with every need and comfort. We slept soundly, enjoyed the fire pit, fishing, naps in the hammock, coffee in the front porch rockers, reading on the deck by the river, hikes from the house, and cooking in the beautifully stocked kitchen. We cannot wait to return! "
