"We found Hotel Central Luzern to be a reasonably priced (relatively speaking) hotel in Lucerne with a lovely breakfast and comfortable rooms. It is very centrally located near the train station and ferry terminal, which was a real benefit not only for walking through the city and visiting other spots on this beautiful lake, but also since we used Lucerne as a hub for day trips to other cities in Switzerland, taking advantage of the excellent train service. Surprisingly quiet, and all the front desk folks were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The main elevator was not operational during our stay, but a tiny back-up elevator was available and all we needed to transport suitcases to our room and back. Highly recommended."

"Really lovely hotel. You needed to request a kettle and return it at check out. Where’s the coffee machine was in situ. They offered a fridge with complimentary drinks, but they were standard, I have food intolerances which meant that half the drinks were of no use to me. So it would have been better to have a choice. The swimming pool and spa was lovely. But most of the sauna and steam rooms were for access of 16+ and nude, which wasn’t ideal for a single mother. My daughter is only 8. The breakfast was good. Amazing selection of teas. The egg station was good. The cups could have been placed near the tea, not just next to the coffee. Ingredients and labels for food could have been clearer. It would have been good to be able to reheat food and drinks. A microwave for use of guests would have been good. It would have been nice if a simple rosti with bacon/ egg was available at the bar or restaurant and I would have liked it if a portion of chips and salads were also available at the bar. "

"The location of this lodge, at the base of the Eiger mountain as well as Grindelwald terminal was perfect! My daughter and I had an amazing time. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the restaurant served delicious food and this all made our first visit to Switzerland a memorable one. We will be back! "

"What a beautiful place to stay!! Right on the beautiful lake and walking distance to all the shops and restaurants in town. Also 5 minutes from Interlaken West which you walk along a quiet road to get to the hotel - very nice since the town itself can be busy. Best time to go is for New Year’s as they have a huge festival the 1st and a parade the 2nd. 5 minutes from a very cute cafe called Velo, and very close to the Victoria hotel. Reception was fabulous. Gave you a free drink voucher to the restaurant next door (not sure if just for New Year’s). Also gave a transportation card if wanted but we walked everywhere. Then offered a bottle of water upon check out for our travels. Overall great location and place to stay! "
