Glide down the meandering slopes and learn to ski in the school at this mountainous region topped by a glacier.

Les Diablerets is a picturesque mountainside village with a quaint town center, several hotels, three ski areas and a ski school. The resort village is at about 3,900 feet (1,200 meters) elevation in the Vaud Alps. Aerial trams and lifts take passengers to the ski slopes above. Stay at one of the exclusive chalets in the region for a romantic time in this snowy wonderland.

Choose from the great variety of blue, red and black slopes on three ski peaks. Isenau is great for families. Le Meilleret offers more advanced skiing. Glacier 3000, with the highest peak in the Vaud Alps, has challenging slopes on natural snow and on a wide glacier.

Have thrills on the Snow Park’s rails, boxes and kickers. Take beginner to advanced lessons in the ski school. Skiing conditions are good from November to May. Ride a lift up to the glacier and admire the snowy panorama. Try the Alpine Coaster, Europe’s highest bobsled track on rails. Enjoy the 4.5-mile (7-kilometer) toboggan run, even at night on a lighted trail, followed by tasty cheese fondue.

Embark on a trip across snowy plains by dogsled or ride on the snow bus. Hike across the Peak Walk by Tissot, among the world’s first bridges connecting mountain summits. It spans 351 feet (107 meters) and is free to access year-round.

Ski down to the village of Les Diablerets at the foot of the mountains. Appreciate the tranquility as you stroll alongside the Grande Eau River. The village has a large conference center ideal for hosting events, such as the annual Alpine Film Festival.

Visit the community in summer for peaceful family hikes along the green hills and rock formations. Stop for a picnic on a cliff and capture photos of the extraordinary vistas.

Les Diablerets is east of Lac Leman in the southwestern region of Switzerland, near the border with France and south of the Regional Nature Park of Gruyère Pays-d’Enhaut. Take a train to Aigle and then Les Diablerets station. Consider vacation package deals including lodging and ski passes. Kids can use the slopes for free.
