As a very regular, lone female traveller for work: Positives - a mechanical door lock that can only be opened from the inside; a bath(!); no shortage of hot water; hair conditioner (a rare and very welcome find!); decent hairdryer; an iron in the room; lovely lighting; beautiful furnishings; quiet location; plugs & usb sockets right near the bed. Negative - although the roman blinds and curtains are lovely, a net for privacy to allow light in while not showing your bum to the cars on street wouldn't go a miss!; lowering the shampoo/conditioner so you can reach it in the bath, not just the shower; Smart TV doesn't connect to Netflix/Prime etc; no breakfast served mon-thurs - an in-room continental option like a packet crossiant and jam would be ideal. Would definitely stay again.

This is an excellent hotel/inn. Very convenient for the local wedding venues, especially convenient for Coltsfoot Retreat. The rooms are very comfortable and cosy, they are tastefully decorated and finished to a high standard. The breakfast is excellent, very generous, well prepared and presented, exactly what is needed the morning after the night before.

ocation is just 5 mins off the A1 in a quiet town even though it's next to the main road. From walking in through the door the staff were welcoming. A full explanation about the doors, times and room was given including being shown to the room. The room it's self was, well, just so unexpected for a pub accommodation. It was very large and spacious. The bed was amazingly comfortable with crisp clean bedding. The bathroom was twice the size or your average PI or TL hotel and had a lovely deep cast iron bath with both overhead and handheld showers. The towels were soft, snow white and extra large they even wrapped around my body. 6 different types of body/hand wash, a shower cap, and even a vanity kit. Something you don't see in 4 star hotels anymore. The room had a large 42 inch TV with the upgraded Freeview play and ALL the channels. Free fast WiFi, iron and board, hair dryer, and enough tea coffee hot chocolate, and milk to last a week. The room was very quiet and even had working Aircon. Now comes the food. Well, I'm a sucker for Hunters Chicken and this was one of the best I've ever had. Two large chicken fillets, chunky chips and homemade coleslaw which was amazing in its self. The meal along with a bottle of beer was all of £20 and very much worth the money. I can't comment on the breakfast as I will be gone early so unable to try it. All in all there is nothing at all I could fault with the whole package. 10 out of 10 and I will be booking up for the same time next year.
